Sticky, please?
New here? Or a regular poster here who is searching for forum games that are actually good? Perhaps looking for new ones that show some promise but can't find any? Then this is the place to be.
The purpose of this thread is for troper forum gamers to recommend forum games to other posters that ask (like a sub-forum library of some sort), or to recommend your latest created forum game.
When posting recommendations, it is preferable that you link the name of the forum game to its thread, along with a description of what the forum game is about.
Forum game rules still apply here.
FORUM GAME RECS
Our Avatars Are Posting In A Forum Thread: What if your avatar was part of a forum thread? This is the result.
Our avatars have been genderflipped: Same as above, but applied to your avatars.
Corrupt-A-Wish: One person makes a wish, the other grants and corrupts it, then makes a wish etc.
1000 bad reasons to declare war: Self-explanatory.
Bad ideas for forum games v2: Thread topic ideas that are likely to get you banned or shunned.
1000 things we've learned from video games: Just started by me, a humorous look at things video games teach us.
Happy recommending and happy forum gaming!
Regards,

Idea: Bad Two-Sentence Horror. Inspired by @bad2sentence, which was itself inspired by r/TwoSentenceHorror. First poster makes the first sentence of a story, the second poster gives it a hilariously non-scary conclusion, and the cycle repeats. Anyone up for it?
Could be fun.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSounds fun!
"Leftover items still have value!"Could be fun.
Check my forum game: The Boss Theme Game!Bringing attention to Guess the Character/Person/Object. I think its got lots of potential and could use some more players.
The true power of us human beings is that we can change ourselves on our own.Two of my own threads have been dead for a while, looking for new users to participate in them.
Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, but do we already have "Cast the above troper's avatar gallery as the Seven Heavenly Virtues"?
A great Mascot Mook.Yeah I recall seeing that one before. I don't know where it is rn to give you the link for it though.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Idea: The Tangent game, where the point is that everyone needs to try and find a way to change the discussion topic in each post while relating it to the previous post. For example if I type about the food I had for dinner, someone else can switch the topic to the cultural origins of that dish, and then someone else can post a fact about the country in question, and then about a fact related to that fact, etc. It sounds complicated but I think it could be fun... if anyone has any idea what I'm even saying
Inspired by, of course, how the Observations thread goes on tangents constantly.

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAs a participant in the derail, I like!
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576So in other words, "Tvtropes writes a tangent?"
Praise the Lamb!...Not really? At least, since I don't really know what that means I have to say no?
Just a game where the challenge is to simultaneously be relevant to the above post while also switching the topic.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessGuess the Trope is a pretty neat guessing game where you well, guess the trope!
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Gonna go out on a whim with this suggestion, but I've seen threads of people playing Werewolf/Mafia on here from a few years ago, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a forum version of Dangan Werewolf based on the Tabletop Sim version found here with a how to play video here
Essentially it's just normal Werewolf with the addition of item cards and special character abilities. I've been a GM for text versions of it before, so I have experience. I'm just curious if anyone would be interested, or if they think it's a good idea in the first place.
Double or nothing! So an idea for a potentially new forum game just popped up in my head called "Assign a Boss Theme to the Above Avatar", where users post music they deem as appropriate boss themes to the above user's avatar. Pretty self-explanatory and different from the current Boss Theme Game, but I don't know if such a game already exists.
I dont believe so
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindAlright, I'll go ahead and create the Above Avatar Boss Theme Game under the assumption it hasn't been made yet. If by chance that it does already exist, then the mods are free to lock my thread and necro that one instead.
In the wake of The Tetris Effect cleanup, I had this idea about a forum game in which people describe a game as if it had that effect on them. They need to provide what would they see, what patterns can you think about that correlate to certain things in real life? I think it would be very interesting to see different people express this.
This deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball.Sounds interesting.
Also, noting here that I changed the thread's title to include game ideas because have been using this thread more for forum game pitches than forum game recs.
Macron's notesAnyone down for “assign a gender-inverted voide actor to the above avatar”?
I'd wouldn't mind, be interesting to play.
"So I'm going to be a hero. I'll make that money...So that my mom and dad can have easier lives!"Is it okay if I make an "Ask Zudak" reboot called Ask the Troper where a "host" gets a "guest" who will answer multiple questions made by the players, and after 24 hrs, the host (or maybe the players, the idea is still being planned) picks their favorite questions and answers?
Or
The host could get asked questions by the players about a topic, and after 24 hrs the host picks their favorite questions which they will answer(the answer will be a joke like the YIAY thread). After that, a new host is chosen and they pick a topic, and after that the cycle repeats.
Kind of like a reverse YIAY.
I like that idea.
A great Mascot Mook.On the subject of YIAY, one (bad) idea I've had for a while is a game that works under similar rules, only players write captions for images rather than responding to text-based prompts.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?
I made a game that asks “If this song was a boss theme, what would the Boss Battle be like?”
