"A try out?" Pandora repeated, straightening herself now that the girl had gotten back up. "Hm... I dunno, these aren't the kind of products you ca-"

Pandora paused, a simple idea coming to her. Wow, how silly of her! There was an obvious solution to this!

"Sure!" Pandora replied brightly. "But doing so requires a cheap deposit on your part! Five hundred yen should, yes?"

Not an optimal price to be sure, but there would be more than customer. And with a little luck and good service, she would be back to buy it soon enough!

"A tan?" Shiro sounded surprised. "Get me a tan? Hm..." Shiro lifted an arm and stared at her deathly pale skin. To be fair, she did look kind of... well, dead. It was a wonder someone hadn't declared her the walking dead yet. But could something like her even tan any more?

....Meh, who cared?

"You mean... we get to sunbathe..." Shiro started, a grin spreading across her face once again. "Side by side... in our bikinis?"

The zombie familiar chuckled. "Or would you rather eliminate tan linea and just go all natural?" She added teasingly.

There wasn't much danger to be had in this line of business. There wasn't much exorcism going on, aside from a few runs now and then. There wasn't anything going on, no youkai or someone of real power coming out in public or anything.

In short, there wasn't much to do in this age for Haru. It was a shame, but at least it meant he didn't have to be called up every damn hour for whatever inane reason a Onmyodo could have for summoning their shikigami.

He walked towards a nearby vendor. It was just a girl selling junk. Or with his senses perceived, a kitsune selling things that has have some magic in it, until the unlucky buyer finds out it really is junk in the end. But by that time the seller could just skedaddle to find another sucker.

Not that he wasn't guilty of that too; It was terribly easy to sell charms sometimes, although now he couldn't put any of his power into them.

He kneeled down and took a gander at what was there. Not like he was using his own money to buy things after all. There was also someone else buying here, but if she chose to buy, it wasn't his problem.

"Running late? It's better to be a few minutes late than it is to knock someone over," Sakura said, almost imperceptibly tilting her head when Cyndy let go of her hand so quickly, rather like she had been burned. There was no property in her arms that would cause harm to the touch, at least none that had ever come up before, so why the reaction? "One question before you go: do you believe in magic?"

It was a strange question, to be sure, but if the answer was convincingly 'no' they would never have any reason to meet again and poor first impressions wouldn't matter. If it was unconvincing then maybe she'd try and find this girl again. That reaction and a belief in magic... it wouldn't be coincidence, of that she was sure.

"That's alright, I can just buy another for myself," Jenny said, patting the little girl's head and looking for a second before going to purchase another. She shouldn't buy strawberry this time... maybe chocolate? But vanilla was tempting too... so many choices! This was why she'd had so much trouble the last time...

In the end, the redhead went for an outside choice and bought blueberry flavoured ice-cream, proceeding to look around for the little girl. Maybe she'd run off? She at least wanted to check the girl hadn't lost her parents or something.

"I didn't wander off! You and Maggot were just walking too quickly," Belle objected, pouting and moving closer to the white-haired girl, arms still firmly circled around her pillow. Now that she'd been joined by a strange looking girl in addition to walking around barefoot in clothes meant for sleeping, the strange looks were increasing; the demon somehow had no idea that people were looking at them, "Where are we going, anyway?"

"Is it? Ah, um, y-yeah... you're right..." Cyndy muttered, barely catching on to what was said. She was still incredibly wary around this strange girl. But maybe paying attention was better, otherwise it could be detrimental to her health.

...Um, she did definitely ask about magic, right?

Cyndy blinked, silent for a few moments as her mind buzzed, desperately seeking the 'right' answer. On the one hand, she was a dragon. Well, part-dragon (for now?), but if she thought about it, that kind of... proved some form of magic existed. Dragons were magical, right? They tended to appear in fiction that included magic. Oh! Maybe that meant elves and dwarves and gnomes and wizards and stuff existed as well!

Stick to the point you idiot! Cyndy reprimanded herself.

"Oh, uh, um..." Cyndy tried to ponder a moment more, but suddenly blurted out "No! No such thing! Too silly!"

Cyndy had pretty much forgotten the food in her arms by now. Her customer wasn't going to be too happy when she finally got around to doing her job.

"Squeek squeek~" Al grinned as he finally stepped onto the sidewalk parallel to his the office. "How do we live like this? Pretty easily." he put out his hand, opening up the doubled-doors to the coffee shop.

Ding...ding...

The bell sounded, prompting the entrance of a pair of new customers. The blonde continued on his journey across the room and to the counter. "Black coffee, please." Al said as he turned his head to face Ecanus again.

"Huh, I guess it's true. Women really don't feel anything." he leaned on the counter the sameway he leaned on his own desk. "So how do you want it? I'm buying."

"Well, it's more for your benefit than mine..." the nekomata began, before pausing to consider the rest of her statement. Admitting to the zombie that a big part of her motivation was that this was a decent excuse to relax in the sunlight like some lazy cat with one of the few people she'd met in recent history that actually interested her wasn't exactly high on her list of priorities. Even if she didn't think her rival would mind, it was kind of embarrassing to admit.

Shujiko seemed kind of... off all of the sudden. That was weird, was she angry about something? Oh well, maybe a little talking would help with how cold she suddenly seemed. Hisako had seen Shujiko be perfectly sociable before, so that meant that something had to be wrong, she reasoned.

"How are you?" she asked, pleasantly, "Are you okay?"

The Carefree Witch was indeed still there, happily licking away at her ice cream. Whoever this girl was, she was so very nice! Giving her ice cream like this... it was delicious and tasty and cold and sweet and just about everything she could ask for in ice cream. And she didn't even have to ask, in this case, so it had worked out pretty well.

She was so focused on the ice cream she hadn't noticed the girl had returned.

Hm... Was that a street vendor up ahead, with some people around her? Amitiel tilted her head a little, and approached. It was more interesting then just standing around, after all.

"Of course I'm fine." Shujiko replied evasively, her gaze downcast. She didn't want to look directly at this brainwashing girl. Otherwise her head would end up with more images than her stupid phone. No no, can't look directly at that beauty...

"D-did you want something?" Shujiko asked quickly. Really now, the sooner she could continue on, the quicker... argh, what was she gonna do again?

Shiro paused, a look of surprise of her face. It disappeared near-instantly, however, replaced with a large grin. "Oooh~? Well, if you say it's a good idea!" The familiar giggled playfully.

"No peeking, by the way~" Shiro added as she began walking backwards. "Just because I'm still pretty doesn't mean I won't get all flustered and say, 'Oh, sacchi, don't look there! and-"

Shiro tripped over a random stone and ended up flat on her back.

"I need ''some reassurance you'll come back and pay me!" Pandora said, utilising her own pouting technique to combat her customer's. After a moment, she dropped that in favour of looking hugable and alone. "...sorry miss, it's just... people have stolen from me before... I just... if you won't leave a deposit, can you at least promise me you'll pay for it?"

While the kitsune gave Saiko a pleading gaze, her invisible ears twitched as she heard someone shuffle around and look at the stuff she'd left on display. She wasn't worried about thievery - it was all a load of polished crap, really, and very easy to replace - but every amulet lost was a coin gone, Pandora said. Once she'd wrangled something out of this klutzy human, she'd turn her attention to the browsing person...

Perhaps something in Saiko's heart broke. Perhaps she simply was overcome by the cuteness of the girl before her. Either way, she immediately pulled out 1000 yen and held it up.

"I-I'm sorry. Here, I'll pay for it." She said, softly. As she took a step forward to grab the rabbit's paw, however, she tripped, falling forward into Pandora. She managed to knock both of them down, landing on top of Pandora, hands on the ground on either side of the other girl's head, straddling her waist.

"...um... oops." She whispered, now flustered.

"Uh..." he stopped himself, thinking of a way to translate her order into the human tongue, "And black for my friend here." he pointed. With the orders taken, the employee left for a moment to leave the two alone.

"Genius? Is that what you call it?" he couldn't help but laugh. She misunderstood him, but it was just too much fun messing with her. "And pure unshackled emotion? Is that what you call tossing wads of paper into the waste bin?" his brow arched. The more he talked to her, the more he wanted to see how that mind worked. Was it as a simple as a mouse running on a wheel, or was it a jumbled cluster of numbers, letters, and strange concepts that the human mind couldn't fathom? Well, mostly, he just bet on the former.

"How do I keep track of eating and sleeping... Well use your genius to figure that out." he mused as the employee came back with two cups of black coffee. He paid their due, and took both drinks in hand. "Here." he offered, holding one of the cups toward his angel companion.

"So you do believe in magic," Sakura decided, releasing her grip on the girl's shoulder and smiling enigmatically, "Run along, you have something to deliver." There could be no doubt that Cyndy believed in magic: such a long pause, rushed delivery, and jerking away like that... not only did she believe, she was in some way magical herself. Excellent. Too long had the only magical entities she'd run into been monsters that needed to die; it would be nice to be able to talk to someone honestly without seeming insane.

"Little girl, have you lost your parents?" Jenny asked seriously, crouching in front of the cheerful witch and trying to make eye contact. It was difficult, her eyes kept getting drawn back to her ice-cream, but it was important to tell if the little girl was lying! She didn't want to responsible for a lost child's never finding her parents and being attacked and killed by vicious beasts!
"How pathetic. Get yourself off the floor," a child's voice said, addressing the zombie and sounding exactly as patronising as the words being spoken. It was pure happenstance that Carmina had come across these two and she had no idea—at least, without paying close attention; long life gave some measure of magical senses—that these two weren't human. Really, she just found it stupid that someone in fine clothing would fall over backwards. A white-haired girl in Japan was unusual, too.

Today, Carmina was looking for someone to serve as a source of blood for most of the month. It was the new moon, so her needs were lowest, but later on she would have to drink. Not that she'd stay near them on the full moon; someone that could be reused month after month was helpful.

"You sounded kind of upset," replied Hisako, frowning. She didn't believe that Shujiko was telling the truth, at the moment, but she didn't know the girl well and decided not to pry. After all, she didn't want to seem nosy or something.

"I don't want anything," Hisako added, her smile returning, "I just wanted to say hi to one of my classmates! Anyway, how are you, Ishi-san?"

The Carefree Witch blinked, and shook her head. She was an apt liar, having been practiced in lying her whole life. She lowered the ice cream away from her mouth. She was sure that her response would be impossible to see through, she'd fooled many, many people across her lifetime.

"My parents are at home, I was going out to have fun! The Happy and Carefree Witch who isn't Scared of Anyone doesn't need any supervision to carry out her magic!" she cheerfully replied. The intent was to make this girl think she was just a child playing make-believe.

Amitiel finally made her way to the street vendor, in time to see one of the customers fall right on top of her.

There was only one logical response.

The angel laughed.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

Y'know, those things they also eat with? You start to think to yourself, 'couldn't they just wash off in a river without tasting their own ass?' Their behavior baffles you. But only because you've never had to do it. You follow?"

She took her cup. "Anyway, you're just zoning in on the exact reason I'm here. You see, past few decades I've been wrestling with some right nasty writer's block. Me, Ecanus." Ecanus took a sip, holding the extra large black with both hands. "I'm the angel of writers. I inspire others. So what do you think happens when I myself am not inspired?"

"Upset?" Shujiko sounded somewhat surprised. Realising this, she reverted to 'inexplicable bitch' mode. "I'm perfectly fine, dummy, now is that all?"

I have every right to say that, she's manipulative. Shujiko weakly rationalised her attitude. As much as it would be kinda cool to be Hisako's friend... she, well... um... It was totally right this way!

"I... wha...?" Cyndy blinked in confusion, trying to remember what her reply was. She did deny the existence of magic, right? Why did she take it as a 'y-

Oh crap the delivery! Cyndy realised with horror, looking at the food in her arms. She must have been way over the allotted time by now!
Since she was dismissed, Cyndy immediately bolted away, almost leaving a shadowy double behind in her haste.

Oh god please don't care about the time please don't complain please don't be cold... Cyndy begged, reaching the office building.

Pandora smiled with relief. "Y-you will? Oh, than-"

Next thing Pandora knew, she was on the ground, clumsy girl straddled on top of her. Well, that was rare. How long had it been since this happened? Accidentally, at least. About twenty years ago, some silly boy thought he was clever when-

Not the time. Pandora reminded herself.

"I should probably mention, I have to take the money before the charms work." the kitsune added cheerfully. Hearing laughter, she shifted her gaze towards the source, tilting her head against the ground.

There was a young looking girl, possibly a customer, laughing at her current position. Well, Pandora could probably see the humour in the situation, but that didn't mean that girl just earned a ten percent rise in prices. Actually...

Eyes flicking between her two other customers, she began to notice just how... different they seemed from the girl currently pinning her to the ground. Not human, huh...?

"Eh?" Ignoring her slightly pained head, Shiro's gaze sought out the source of the voice. A cute kid! In such elegant clothing! Oh god, the urge to pet her was powerful!

first thing's first, though. "Very well!" Shiro rocked onto her shoulders slightly and sprung from the ground to her feet in a practised motion. Smiling brightly, Shiro then kneeled before the cute girl. "Thanks for your concern! But I've had way worse falls than that! So, what's your name? Can I pet you? You're cute! Wanna be my pupil?"

Shiro fired her barrage of questions casually. She may or may not occasionally do this with other random strangers who talked to her. She liked playing around sometimes.

"Well ain't this a sight to see." Haru said, looking at the mess the two ladies were. Although he wasn't really interested; One was a bit too young, and kitsune gave him bad memories.

There was also another person of power standing behind him. He couldn't recognize the type of energy she emitted, so it was probably a foreigner. However, he continued browsing what junk the vendor had, being uninterested in whoever that was.

Akira had finished a omelet. It was cooked to perfection, with various fillings within. There a portion for him, and another for either him or Haru to eat later.

Omelets were the best thing he could make. In fact, anything egg-based was probably the only cooking he could do proficiently. It wasn't like he couldn't make anything else, but it required perusing a cookbook for instructions, which more than likely results in something burning.

He settled in with a bottle of water. He ate it steadily, in a almost rhythmic pace. After cleaning up, he found his notebook and started to practice drawing again. With a small smile, he began to sketch.

Shrugging, Sakura continued onwards. Now... what had it said on the side of the box? If she ordered whatever it was later today, she'd hopefully get the same girl. That way, she could question her beliefs in magic a little more. Until then, though, there were reports of what sounded like bakeneko activity. It was probably a good idea to try and deal with such an obvious danger before people really started to make use of their summer.

"Well, make sure to be home before nightfall, please? I wouldn't want you to get hurt," Jennifer asked, failing to spot any deceit and focusing entirely on licking her ice-cream before it melted. It was a warm day, not too hot, but it indicated that this summer was going to be a very, very hot one. Unfortunately, she preferred cooler summers...
"Calm yourself," the vampire demanded, frowning. Too many questions... and she didn't like where some of them were going. What sort of pervert was this girl? Not that she hadn't had to deal with people like this before but most of them didn't recover so easily from falling over. Still... this was not the time of day that she wanted to be dealing with this sort of thing.

"I'm just being friendly, Ishi-san," she replied, reproachfully, frowning.

Such a nice girl.

"Okay!" the Carefree Witch replied, cheerfully, licking away at her ice cream. It was about now that she got to... really looking at the girl. Not just seeing her, but getting a close look, taking in her appearance. Having practiced and experienced magic her whole life, she could detect it and was curious to see if this girl had it. There... was something there. But more importantly...

"... Do you want to walk with me?"

It seemed like a simple, friendly question from a little girl who wanted to make a friend. There was more to it then that.

Amitiel took a deep breath, finally ceasing her laughter and looking over the scene more seriously. Some of the girls here was cute, though there wasn't any guys she thought were cute... maybe she should try flirting after taking a look at what this vendor sold?

It was clear to anyone that the angel, pretty as she was, was far from the glory she seemed to invision. In fact, she appeared rather disheveled, and had an... odd personality. Shujiko didn't reply, though her face coloured as she tried to hide it by facing the ground. Gah, why couldn't she just apologise? It's not like Hisako had done anything. Except screw with her head and feelings with her witchcraft and... um... yeah, that!

"...I-I'm annoyed." Shujiko muttered, trying to excuse her behaviour somehow.

"...Um..." Cyndy, having only delivered to houses before, wasn't sure what to do with an office building. Walk on in? Find an intercom? She was left standing, fretting over how much time she'd taken to get here. A small part of her was also worried about the strange girl, but there was n way they'd ever meet again, right?

Haru saw the girl up and about, charm in hand. "Glad it works!" he told her. For a while anyway he added in thought. If it made people happy, who cares if it becomes trash afterwards? Well, that was the excuse he gave to bring Hiroto in that particular scheme, before he brought a unfortunate end to that. And he made so much money on that too.

A flip of the page. Akira didn't like wasting paper, so he drew on the back of the pages, and if possible, filled the spaces with some kind of doodle. He finished drawing the pictures he didn't complete earlier. It wasn't difficult to remember all the details.

But he was done with the unfinished drawings, and he already sketched his apartment many times, down to the tiniest detail. Growing a bit uneased, he stood up. Opening the door, he went out the apartment as well. Haru could enter without his help, and he had to find a new subject to sketch.

"Honor?" Al made sure to stress the word to emphasize it's very strange, foreign meaning to him. Well, whatever floats her boat, he thought. "So you're going to write about me... my cases... the people I know... what I drink, what I eat, everything, right?" the young man's eye twitched. Well this was certainly going to be interesting to say the least. This angel was going to follow him around, through hell and back, just to write about him.

He took another sip of his coffee as he finally crossed the street. Hopefully Ecanus knew how street lights worked, "Have you tried writing about anything other than me? I mean, I heard authors have better ideas when they switch from subject to subject... or am I thinking about something else?" he didn't know what he was talking about, but in his own way he was trying to help his strange, eccentric friend.

With his back to the door, he pushed. It opened up with ease, revealing the light, ocean blue carpet of Al's office, the waste bin flooded with paper and the familiar spinning, black fan overhead.

Wait, who was that? Too busy talking to Ecanus, and paying heed to his coffee, he didn't notice the girl right there. OH wait, he ordered pizza... right, right. "Oh, hey there Ms." he said with a smile, making sure to keep the door open. "It's free now, right?"
