Shukufuku City, located in a rather wonderful area of Japan. Outside the city was rolling hills, and inside it was, well, a bustling city filled with people.

Not all these people, however, were regular human beings.

Amitiel was one of these irregular beings. She cheerfully headed down the street, alone, holding her backpack on tight. As she went, she contemplated where she should go. A party? Back to her apartment? A club? It was hard to decide, but something fun was in order. Her magical Tommy Gun was nice and tucked away inside her backpack, and everything was going just fine. Even though she was a little bored while she tried to think of something to do.

Amitiel settled on looking for a party to crash. That could be pretty fun.

The Carefree Witch cheerfully drifted through the alley. What was the point of walking when no one could see her, anyway? It wasn't like she had to keep her powers secret when there was no one to see them. Besides, she was a bit bored today, she hadn't met anyone who was interesting at all. Floating was more fun then walking.

"Hmmm... I need to find something fun to do," she commented to herself, gaining a thoughtful expression. But what?

The Carefree Witch, finding herself approaching an area that actually had people in it, begrudgingly landed. Floating was so much more fun, but she had to keep that a secret. Her clothing? A costume, fun cosplay! People always believed that, for whatever reason, even when they found it weird.

Cheerfully, the Carefree Witch headed out into the crowds.

Hisako peered in the shop window, sucking on the cherry lollipop she'd purchased. It didn't look like there was anything she really wanted there, at the moment. Stretching, she leaned back and looked off down the street. So many people, she wondered which of them were friendly, and nice to talk to, and which ones were not. With a lazy yawn, she turned to head off back home.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

"Aah... can't be bothered with this stupid shopping stuff..." Shujiko sighed to herself, hands clasped behind her head. Really now, the one day she decided to be lazy and suddenly she had to go buy food. Kinda sucked. Oh well...

Ah well, could be worse. She might have wanted to laze around, but she wasn't adverse to the horrible prospect of walking about ten minutes to get some stuff. And on the meantime, she pulled out her mobile phone. flicking through her gallery of pictures, an onlooker might notice a certain beautiful girl present in just about every one. All of them distant.

...Why do I keep doing that...? shujiko wondered, and instead flicked through her soemwhat meagre music collection instead. She was barely aware of anyone who might be in front of her at the time.

"Make way!" The red-headed delivery girl called out, hair billowing from under a black cap as she sprinted madly down the street, a cardboard box balanced between her arms. Despite her thick and heavy-looking, brightly-coloured clothing, she didn't seem too bothered by the heat.

Cyndy had an important mission. A mission of such vital importance the universe may hinge upon her success. In fact, if Cyndy were to fail, the single worst event in the history of ever may just occur.

And like hell Cyndy was gonna get fired for not delivering in less than thirty one minutes!

Twenty nine of those had passed by now, but she was nearly at that address! Swiftly side-stepping everyone she could, the dragon-girl rushed ever onwards...

Sitting herself on a fine rug she always carried around, the kitsune got to work laying down the many various charms and amulets she carried around. A sign propped next to her decorative parasol indicated she was something of a travelling merchant. Located at the end of a street in the shopping district, the human looking female hummed merrily to herself, all set to make some quick cash before making a quick exit from this place.

Suzu mumbled something under her breath as she walked down the street. This was terrible, she'd been thrown out again. She hadn't even done anything to deserve it! Sure she ate her sister's food and broke a couple of her toys, but that was nothing. Her sister had cheated her out of a fair win! The jerk.

The young girl sighed, she had to make the most of this. At least her sister wasn't horrible enough to throw her out without any money, although she wasn't rich by any stretch of the imagination. Unsure of how long it would be before she could find a good enough apology gift, Suzu had decided to stick to buying the bare neccessities.

The redhead glanced around at some shops, rubbing her chin contemplatively. "Now then, whewe do peopwe hewe keep theiw sake..?"

A man with blonde hair, green eyes, and a black suit leaned against the wall. He was visiting his Mother's side of the family which, so happened to be Japanese. He wasn't too used to the language yet, but he could hold a general conversation. " I know, I know..." he spoke in English, his eyes traveled along the tiles on the ceiling. The lawyer was on the phone, talking to his father who was overseas. "I'll be home in a month or two, don't worry about it. You never stop worrying, do you?"

" Someone has to..." a voice rough with age spoke from the other line. " Since your mother is gone, ya know?"

" Yeah," Alphaeus nodded as his eyes went from the tiles to the window. " Listen, Dad, I'll call you back in an hour or so. I have some more phone calls to make."

" Haha.. busy as ever.. love you, son."

The blonde smiled, " Love you too, Dad." with that he closed the phone and slid it into his pocket.

Well, time to get to work as always...

The apartment was still. The only movement was the breathing of the two inhabitants inside of it. One was a large man, sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed. The other was an dog laying down, staring at the other.

Haru knew Akira was just doing meditation. However, for the past two hours, he'd been at it without budging a inch. He already checked the kid's vitals, so there was no problems in that department. He stood up, in moments he was in human form. He changed his clothing to a more suitable outfit. Ever since that incident with someone's wife a while ago, he could only appear in that form now. It looked good, but a suit didn't exactly look right for a stroll. It didn't bother him that he also actually had to buy clothing; He just took it from Akira's budget. Instead of the suit he wore, he had a hoodie and blue jeans for casual wear. The boots were okay to keep.

He walked out without saying a word. Akira didn't need a notice from him, or any kind of asking for permission.

Reaching the end of the stairs, he stopped. "Should I have told him I called for delivery?" he muttered to himself. He pondered this for exactly a second before continuing with a audiable "Nah".

Akira opened his eyes. One of the things he had to being doing for this Onmyodo business was to clear his mind through meditation. At least, that's what the instructions from his father said. It did clear up his head, but now there were a dozen thoughts in his head, mostly about how his body ached all over. Laying on the floor, he did a couple stretches. The absence of Hachi probably meant he was off doing something. He wondered why he didn't just ask if they wanted to go out. He probably would've just stopped if he did.

His stomach grumbled. Standing up, he went to cook something up. At least cooking was something more intersting than sitting on the floor for a long time.

Hibiki had been walking the town, looking to purchase some items for his more, ah, alchemical research. He just felt like today was a good day, you know? He was excited because even though he had failed every time before this, it just felt right. He knew he'd get the potion to work... Oh who was he even kidding. Regardless of anything, he was still in a good mood today though.

Then he heard a small girl asking for Sake, "Eh? Little girls shouldn't drink such things," He said looking towards the little girl with an amused face.

"Watch it!" a girl said, resting her hand on Cyndy's shoulder as she ran past, having just had to make an effort to avoid being trampled on. They were rather scary-looking, with the tattered, slightly blood-stained coat and slender, almost spiky form. Sakura's expression really wasn't helping matters and neither was the way that her hand seemed so cold... but that was only to the dragon girl. After all, to most people it was just an arm, only those who could see through illusions or had other reason to find it surreal would notice.

"Little girl, do you want some ice-cream?" Jennifer asked, the tall girl kneeling and offering an ice-cream cone to the little witch. She'd been going to eat it herself but... the child was all adorable, and they were dressed nicely! Such an adorable little girl deserved a present! Besides, she'd bought the wrong flavour in the end, so she may as well give it to someone that would enjoy it!
Belle was... lost, having come to a halt at some point in a short walk and just ground to a halt at the edge of the road, hugging her pillow tightly and looking puzzled. The tall demon hadn't been paying much attention to where she was going and now she'd managed to lose her friends... or were they better described as family? She wasn't really sure.

"Maggot? Kelpie?" the pyjama-clad redhead asked hopefully, ignoring the strange looks being sent her way.

Suzu turned to look at the source of the objection. He really didn't know who he was talking to. She would've gladly told the man, but that whole 'masquerade' thing people had would mean that would lead to a lot of trouble for her, and she wasn't exactly in any state to deal with that.

"But, I want it! And I was fine with it befowe!" she shouted. Last time she was here, they practically showered her with women and sake, why did it matter so much that she looked like a child?

Sachiko sighed, today was boring. Every day was boring. This whole damned world, with a few rare exceptions, was boring. Fortunately for her, the nekomata was on her way to meet with the only person she knew that could hold her attention for more than a few seconds.

She could've sworn they were supposed to meet somewhere around here.

With a small yelp of surprise, Cyndy came to a sudden stop as someone grabbed her shoulder. Clutching the goods tightly, she turned her head towards whoever stopped her, and found herself frozen with intimidation.

This girl... she seemed kind of... tough. Tough and scary. Was... was that blood on her clothes? Oh god she was a gang member wasn't she? Cyndy gulped, fearing she had brought some sort of wrath upon herself somehow.

"I-I'm sorry..." Cyndy said nervously. "...I'm running late, so..." Slowly, Cyndy reached out to the other girl's wrist with a hand, hoping that gently moving her hand aside wasn't a sign of hostility. However, the dragon-girl ended up recoiling slightly at the touch.
H-her hand... why's it so cold? Cyndy wondered, now wondering if she had gotten caught by a ghost or something. She certainly wasn't afraid, though! Just... er, anxious.

With a carefree bounce to her step, Shiro Kurosaki walked to her destination. She was going to meet up with her fiend/master/rival, and it wouldn't do to be late. Shiro normally wasn't so punctual, but hey, it was Sachiko! If anyone deserved punctuality, it was the girl that both interested her and gave Shiro a second chance!

And there she was...

With a playful grin, the white-haired girl -with skin almost pale enough to match her hair- stepped up behind the nekomata and placed her hands over Sachiko's eyes.

"Let your guard down!" Shiro yelled triumphantly. What'cha gonna do now, Sacchi?"

"And Al cut... the call, words... unsaid... still stubbornly clinging... to his lips... to his lips... No! No no no, that's wrong! Gahhh! That's just bad! Why is it so bad?!"

A wad of paper ricocheted into the waste-paper basket feet from Al. A long list, a day's worth of crossed off sentences. Some had to do with Al. Others didn't. But those others weren't all tightly clumped together in the list's most recent entries. Whoever had been writing about him... had obviously been doing it for a while.

"Hmmm... what about "he cut the call, wishing ruefully that he could have finally said the things he never did"... No, but I think we might be getting somewhere... Oi!" a woman's voice called out. "What do you think sounds better, "phone call to the past", or "his own personal grief hotline"?"

"Y-yes?" A gasp of drawn air was heard as a distant figure was seen growing nearer, like a long distance runner that was winded. When Belle had disappeared so suddenly, the frailer demon had to go about and look for the wayward being. Added to the fact that she was chased by cats (who were inexplicably drawn to her atop of the fact the very thing she was allergic to) all about the area while attempting to locate Belle allowed for the girl to have an excuse to be somewhat drained. "You... have... got... to stop... wandering off... without telling us..." Kelpie wheezed, her normally pallor complexion somewhat rosy.

Kutsuu slowly walked down the streets of the city, observing the surroundings. Buildings all around, people rushing around doing things, an odd and complex network of normal life. He had nothing to do, and as such walked through the streets, pistol in his pocket and an eye open to the odd miracles occurring hidden from sight everywhere.

Hibiki raised an eyebrow, "Oh? You've had it before?" He smiled a bit, "How about I get you some chocolate milk instead? That sounds more your age I think," he pointed to a store, "I can get some from there, even, so it's not very far,"

He wasn't sure why he was offering a young girl something to drink, must be the fact she's all alone at the moment. But he couldn't help but feel that what he was doing would probably come off as... wrong.

"You know it's better to tell the truth than exaggerate even the smallest detail, right?" Al replied as he took a step forward, looking down into the waste bin. Surely enough, wads upon wads of paper made up its contents.

"I told you once, I'll tell you again, just take a break. Forcing yourself to work and worry will just force wrinkles to form on that pretty face of yours." he said with a grin. "Just say what I did." he stated plainly, moving from the waste basket to the desk where he found himself leaning against the edge of the desk with his arms crossed.

"And I'm still wondering why you chose me. Surely there are much more interesting people out there." he sighed, his gaze falling onto the carpet.

"Anyway, are you thirsty?" he asked, not meeting the angel's gaze. "I'm going to go get some coffee, do you want anything?" He felt the need to ask Ecanus twice. Knowing her, she'd spout something before he even got a chance to finish talking.

"I'm an angel, angels don't get wrinkles." Ecanus replied quickly, chewing on the tip of her pen. Trying and failing to find a better way to word it, she ended up taking the human's advice and just wrote what she heard. She could always edit it later.

"Hmmm?" she looked up at his offer. "Coffee? Ah, you're right, the buzz is starting to wear off." She got up, and shoved the pen (now a quill) behind her ear. Making sure she took her note pad with her, she caught up to Al. "What do you think, does this seem too purple to you?"

Hisako turned to walk away from the shop window... and immediately saw someone she recognized. It was one of the people from high school(though it was summer break now, so she hadn't seen her in a little while), and girl named Ishi Shujiko. She'd talked to her a little, but they were really only classmates, not particularly close. Still, it was nice to see one of her classmates and she was feeling a little bit bored... so why not try to strike up some conversation? She waved to the other girl, smiling.

"Hi, Ishi-san!" she called to the other girl.

The Carefree Witch blinked. Ice cream. She was being offered ice cream. Who cares if she didn't know the person, not only was she fully capable of defending herself if they somehow turned out to be bad(and it certainly didn't seem like they would), but this was ice cream. One of the most glorious things in existence! Ice cream was absolutely wonderful! Her eyes shined as she reached out to take the cold snack from the taller girl.

"Waaaah~... Ice cream-chan! Thank you!"

Amitiel frowned. There was basically nothing particularly interesting in the immediately area... oh, hey, that shop looked kind of cool. And there was a bunch of people up ahead, maybe she could talk to them!

The angel folded her arms, standing in front of the shop. What to do, what to do... Ever since she'd fled Heaven, things had been a lot better. Gabriel and his flunkies, well, Gabriel was almost dead, forced to regenerate, and the fanatical circle of followers he had accumulated? They weren't able to do anything about all the angels who were leaving Heaven.

"Ack! You got me, Shiro-chan!" Sachiko replied, smiling, "Well, there are a couple of things I could do but...not in public."

The nekomata's mood lightened considerably now that her friend was here. After all, the girl had fighting spirit when she was alive and had been the first person Sachiko could legitimately call a rival in quite some time and now that she was a zombie, well...that just added more awesomeness to her!

Suzu paused at the offer of chocolate milk. That sort of thing was meant for little kids, why did it sound so appealing to her? Stupid sister, what did you do to me?!

"Weww, I guess miwk's good too..." she said.

Startled, Shujiko stopped in her tracks and glanced up, instantly freezing on the spot. Of all the people to bump into, why did it have to be her? That one detestable, smug, beautiful, desirable... brainwashing girl?!

A faint rise of colour in her cheeks, Shujiko flipped her phone closed and pocketed it, not quite maintaining eye contact with her classmate. "Hi." Was all she said, the normally nice girl suddenly quite cold and informal. Which was what Hisako deserved! Messing with her head like that...

"Aw, 'not in public'?" Shiro repeated teasingly. "Your excuses betray your helplessness, Sacchi!"

With a small giggle, Shiro removed her hands and pirouetted to Sachiko's front, hands clasped behind her back. It was impossible to believe this animated girl had been dead a short while.

With a playful grin, Shiro continued, "You'll need to prove your strength if you wanna be worthy of the title of 'rival~! But first... what're we doing today?"

Saiko walked through the streets, hands in her pockets, looking around absentmindedly. Her grandpa had gone off somewhere for the week (something about visiting an old friend), and as she had already destroyed all the training dummies at her house, she decided to go for a walk to clear her head.

That it did, until she tripped over her own feet and crashed face-first into the ground. She lay there a moment, before slowly picking herself back up and starting her walk again, stumbling slightly as she did so. She took it in stride, even when she stumbled again a few seconds later. And then tripped again.

Close inspection would reveal that the laces of her sneakers were untied.

A seemingly inconspicuous crow studied the ground below from its perch on a building. It flew down, landing near people and slowly walking past them, looking up to study their expression as it did so. When it passed them, it raised a wing in the manner a human might raise a fist in celebration.

'I did it!' Thought Saru. 'I'm totally awesome at transforming!'

Unfortunately, however, the young man was so overcome he transformed back, with a puff of smoke. A moment later Saru realized his mistake, and froze.

'Dammit.'

Picking out an amulet from her selection, Pandora bounded over to the girl on the ground, kneeling before her with a friendly smile and fox-features well hidden.

"S'up, miss? You look a little... sorry to say, clumsy. No problem, though!" Pandora said cheerfully, dangling what looked like a sculpture of a rabbit's foot in her face. "I'm Takehaya Suzu." the young girl said, smiling up at the man. Sure, it wasn't her real name, nor was it the best fake name she could come up with, but it wasn't like anyone would make the connection. And with introductions out of the way, she cheerfully entered the shop.

"Are you sure I'm the one to be asking for fashion advice?" he looked down, undoubtedly looking at his own black suit and pants. "Ha..." he let out a small laugh before opening the door. He could get coffee on the other side of the street, maybe fast enough to get back to his pizza. He ordered a bit ago, why wasn't it even there yet?

"Huh." he dismissed the worry for now. He had coffee to get and an angel to appease. "Come on," he said as he finally stepped out of the room and out into the street. He walked a brisk walk, watching for traffic as he progressed across the street with the angel hopefully following not too far behind. "You never answered my question," he said, once again not facing the angel, "Why are you writing about me?"
