.....
Well, I guess that's something to keep them busy.
So....why are they even there anymore? What's the point? They clearly have no purpose outside of Slice of Life type situations.
Maybe I'm just shortsighted, and missing something here.
One Strip! One Strip!
Makes sense Pope!
After all, nothing shows the new bad guy as a threat like beating all the other dudes we know stand no chance agains him anyway.
........Hate The Worf Effect so much.....and this isn't even an example.
Wait a minute! If we need somebody to get his ass kicked to show the new dude as a threat, that's why we have Vegeta!

One Strip! One Strip!I thought the job of Piccolo and Krillin was to sit around and provide exposition about how amazingly strong everyone is.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!So I just happened to Youtube the final battle between Gohan and Cell after rewatching the Goku vs Superman Death Battle, I was in a Dragonball Z mood today.
Super Perfect Cell is weaker than SS 2 Gohan:
- Power levels dictate that the only way you can finish off an opponent or
leave so much as scratchinjure them is by having a similar or outright higher power level. "Half" of Gohan's power as a SS 2 was enough to finish off Cell. - Gohan said his power was "cut in half" after tanking the hit for Vegeta. He still managed to beat Cell with a one-handed Kamehameha and obliterate him.
- Cell wasted all that time pushing against Gohan, so his power couldn't have been that much greater than Gohan at half strength.
Super Perfect Cell rivals SS 2 Gohan:
- There are several moments in the series where an attack with enough power can disable, wound, or even kill a much stronger opponent when that opponent wasn't able to defend. Raditz and the Special Beam Cannon, Frieza and the Destructo Disk, Vegeta and Gohan's tail, Cell and the Final Flash, and recently, Goku and Sorbet.
- Cell was being sniped by several of the Z-Fighter before this happened, they were messing with his concentration, giving Gohan the opportunity to push - however, Cell immediately pushed back.
- Cell could easily have been toying with Gohan to torment him, just as he had been throughout the entire fight. Cell had the advantage for most of the
battlestruggle, and kept applying more strength to match Gohan's. It was only when Vegeta hit him (and practically broke his leg from the look of it
) that he lost.
Same points as always?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!it's been discussed and debated A LOT. I have always maintained Super Perfect Cell is on SSJ 2 Gohan's level. A little stronger or weaker, not sure, but somewhere around there.

Eh, Super Parfait Cell being 10% short of Super Ultra Double Combo With Fries Gohan is better than what I remember. I remember "Weaker than SS Gohan because half of SS 2 Gohan beat him" and I hadn't the mind, or the evidence to argue at the time.
Coincidentally, I find it hard to believe that Cell would be that content in his calorie level if he was that far below Gohan. I mean, Saiyans have all these preservatives, but still, Cell spent the better half of those sagas dining and dashing at a planet-wide, all-you-can-eat buffet. The man knows his food groups.
Alright, he might've bitten off a little more than he could chew with Gohan, but he still had a WTF expression when Gohan transformed.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!You know who I feel bad for? The guys at the 24th Tenkaichi Budoukai.
You spend a year busting your ass and perfecting your chosen martial art and you become the best fighter you can possibly be and nobody cares. Nobody cares because for three tournaments in a row, they got magic men!
My various fanfics. It's odd that the 22nd was the least dangerous...no one was in any real danger there and no one died.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. For more on Gohan vs Cell, you could read this thread
which goes into great detail about multiple ways to view the matter.
After abandoning my plans for a review, I've been toying with the idea of turning my blog into something similar, in-depth analysis of certain issues rather than covering the whole series.
I subscribe to the 'they were about equal' at that point theory. As in, accounting for all of Gohan's injuries and the fact he's firing the Kamehameha one handed.
So yes, Super Perfect Cell is about equal to Super Saiyan Gohan, and would have still gotten utterly and completely creamed by Gohan before he got wounded.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariYeah, that one's mine too and it bugs me that the otherwise really well put together explanation of the multiple sides in the debate failed to account for that.
Even the "They were equal" option blows off the damage Gohan received and claims he wasn't at half strength when he fired his Kamehameha.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. What are you talking about? It totally covers that. It is arguing that half power was not all Gohan was capable of at that point, which is true.
Piccolo notes Gohan's loss of power and says his chi is too weak to beat Cell, and points out that Cell is overwhelming hom. Half of Super Saiyan Gohan's power is not about equal to Cell, everything paints it as inferior. Goku is not confident in half of Gohan's power, but instead confident that Gohan has more power in reserve.
Remember, it is possible for these characters to sense when others are holding back, and Gohan is shown releasing more power at the end.
The idea that SPC is only about equal to Cell ignores that perfect Cell was originally still able to fight Gohan (if at a disadvantage), had a large power up after that (which shocked everyone else) and received a zenkai after that that Gohan noted to be significant since he admitted to having underestimating the degree to which Cell powered up. And that he could injure Gphan so much in the first place.
I think Gohan was definitely still stronger, but it's pretty clear SPC was too much for half of Gohan's power.

Yeah. I remember how it was weird that Spidey never threw punches in the Fox series.
It was years before I discovered the censorship thing. I think they worked around it well though, even if it was extremely noticeable.
I'm really wondering what they will do with this whole alternate universe thing coming up? I mean, Goku and Vegeta will be able to become Gods soon, so what else is let for them? I suppose being able to actually challenge Beerus (and maybe Champa) is the next step, leaving Whis as the most awesome dude in existence.
Also, I know that there have been arguments against letting anyone else do anything cause it's a waste of time, so I won't go on that spiel, but I don wonder, if you don't want Krillin and Piccolo and all those other guys fighting weaker Mooks while Goku and Vegeta handle the heavy hitters, then what should they be doing?
