I don't get why Frieza would let Cold be King Cold in that event. That's the only genuine respect I think he's ever shown.
I suspect that's at least partially because Frieza is, for all intents and purposes, a king in his own right— odds are his interests and Cold's overlap. Perhaps Cold had to handle the actual burocratics (or what pass for it in a tyranny) Frieza had no interest on, but as long as Frieza still can go around exerting his own authority at will, his own title would be nothing but a meaningless nomenclature trifle to him.
@KBSL I don't know where you got that impression, but I don't dislike anyone.
Mocking Yamcha isn't due to any animus toward him but because I find it hilarious. I used to favor him when my main exposure to the series was the Budokai games, but he didn't manage to keep my interest when I watched/read the series and got to know their actual characters.
It's just that certain times when you're discussing them it comes across that way to me. Maybe that's not your intention but internet and all, makes it hard sometimes to get that.
Like I've said before, the Yamcha mocking would be funnier to me if it was used more sparingly. As it is now it's just beating a dead horse. Actually, it's more like beating a dead horse, feeding it to dogs, shooting the dogs, and then beating their corpses.
Aquaman was made lame by Super Friends and was never able to get past it.
Yamcha is legitimately weak in the series, and made so by his own author.
They aren't really that alike.
......When is Champa showing up?

One Strip! One Strip!
Mind you, both examples are only comparing them to the strongest faces of their respective series, and there are plenty of named characters likely far weaker than them.
x5 - And ahh, so Cold is King and Frieza is Dictator-for-Life?
Frieza probably lets Cold run the organization because he's a better businessman. Frieza's the figurehead, while Cold runs things behind the scenes.
Though why Frieza needs to run a business when he can just take whatever he wants whenever he wants by force is beyond me.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'm kind of glad no-one official has pulled an Aquaman on Yamcha. The "badass" Aquaman comics were overcompensating so much it just came off as quite sad.
It's too absurd to change the detractors' minds, and can make things even worse. At best you end up with the character getting Batman level wank which isn't really a good thing.

There's also Batman The Brave And The Bold Aquaman as well.
And the reason they go so far on the Bad Ass front is that people insist on treating him like his Super Friends incarnation all the time, so DC has to jump through hoops to banish that impression, which many fans promptly pick up and put back in their place afterwards.
But that's neither here nor there.
Favourite Non Ki based technique? I'm putting up Guuldo's Time stop. If the fat bugger had learned to hold his breath longer, he'd have been invincible.
One Strip! One Strip!I predict Champa is going to show up around Episode 12-13, once Goku and Beerus's fight is over. Because after that, Whis knocks him out, right? It would be the best time for Champa to start doing...whatever he's doing. When Beerus is asleep.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Stronger than Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku/Vegeta individually, weaker than the two of them working together or Beerus individually.
The only way to compare them to GT characters is if you use a vague guidebook comments that mentions Vegetto might have power surpassing than a Super Saiyan 4. Which is obviously ridiculously vague, and doesn't go into that "Super Saiyan 4" covers a massive range within GT.
Or you could take Xenoverse into account, which has SS4 Gogeta unsure if he can beat Beerus.

Kinda yeah. It always depends on the writer but he's been given some absolutely insane powers like the ability to control ALL LIFE ON EARTH (including humans) because it once had a connection to the sea. Fucking stupid. Mostly, though, they just have a lot of characters hype him up and directly address the idea that he's useless:
I haven't seen the DCAU but I've been meaning to (wouldn't know where to start). Brave and the Bold handled him pretty well though, he was cool there without it needing to be pointed out to the audience that you're supposed to like him and you're wrong if you don't.

Stronger than SSGSS Goku and Vegeta but weaker than Beerus. My numbers:
Whis: 15,000,000,000,000
Beerus: 10,000,000,000,000
Golden Freeza: 8,400,000,000,000
SSGSS Goku: 7,700,000,000,000
SSGSS Vegeta: 7,500,000,000,000
Compare to:
Buuhan: 122,040,000,000
Kid Buu: 30,000,000,000
Super Perfect Cell: 6,300,000,000
obviously these numbers are 100% my opinion and just an estimation of where I think they are.
Really should play Xenoverse sometime...
Although, aren't Goku and the rest incapable of sensing Beerus and them? The whole "God Ki" business? So how would SSJ 4 Gogeta even be able to properly assess Beerus' strength?
He's not basing it off Beerus' ki, but wondering if he's become strong enough to beat Beerus now. In other words, Xenoverse is acting like the GT timeline still had Beerus fight Goku, and Gogeta is going off the memory of Goku (and possibly Vegeta). Which would add to the uncertainty.
Which puts Gogeta as stronger than Super Saiyan God / Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku, but not a great deal stronger if he's still uncertain he reached Beerus' strength.

The best Batman is the Batman The Brave And The Bold Batman.
I don't think most people are actually familiar with the Superfriends depiction of Aquaman anymore.
What most people today are familiar with is the meme of the Superfriends Aquaman. Very few people alive today ever watched Superfriends, but Superfriends Aquaman will never die so long as people keep reminding everyone of Superfriends Aquaman and how important it is to defeat the image of Superfriends Aquaman any time the character comes up in conversation.
That we are still trying to counteract his image is the only reason his image is still relevant today.
Remember: scorn does not kill art. Art flourishes on attention, whether positive or negative. The only thing that can kill art is apathy. Superfriends Aquaman will never die so long as people still care enough to bring him up, and more often than not, the people bringing him up are the ones trying to prove the character's better than that.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.

Furthermore, Beerus acknowledges Freeza as the strongest mortal in the universe and that's the feat that makes him interested in Goku.
