Uh, Tobias, you confused me but I think you may have missed a point. This wasn't a rumor about Toriyama intending to end the series but being forced by executive meddling, Toriyama actually ended the series and told Shonen Jump "sorry". Jump, for the most part, was okay with this but TOEI Animation wanted more material, leading to Dragon Ball GT, done mostly without his input.
The "Z" debate was nice, thank you, but no one else knew that?

And then Super Saiyan God was born.

Because I'd really like to know why they made Resurrection "F" if Super was just going to come out and contradict it a few months later.
The only reason I can think of is "so they could sneak peak SSGSS".
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! No, it was an idea that he had in his head for a while and the song just reminded him of it and he named it after the song. He said so in an interview right after the poster was revealed. Battle of Gods gave him the opportunity to execute this idea.
Its actually really obvious when you think about how bare-bones the plot is and that it really could go anywhere in the series after Vegeta goes Super Saiyan. Some weird things in the plot also make sense when you consider that it was first thought up way earlier in the story like the being any suspense with Freeza asking Vegeta to work for him or that none of the characters from the Android Arc onwards had any relevance at all.
Jaco was cool in Resurrection F. And I enjoyed the movie, if it had to happen at any other time it simply would have been somewhere between Majin Buu (Goku's "new" form is SS2) or battle of gods(Goku's goes masters SS3 so that it doesn't burn so much energy, Freeza doesn't master his Golden form)
Matter of fact, the latter. Vegeta gets SS3, defeats Freeza, Goku learns that he needs to stop assuming he won't be attacked and actively defend himself more (knocked out by Vegeta when getting beans, shot by Freeza mook while Freeza was groveling) Beerus wakes up with the surprised revelation Freeza has been killed. SS3 has had a successful showcase against something other than Buu, Vegeta has had his high point and can now be slowly fazed out for new rivals, the whole time period can be used to wrap things up for everyone.
Gohan would still have his Kai power up, so we'd need a more credible opponent for Great Saiayman but Yamcha could have his evil diva, which might work even better with him as a body guard, Tien and Choazu can have their mind hive, which could be the thing that killed Crane and Tao before coming for them, Krillen can have his crime family syndicate, the Androids have their predator plant, Piccolo has his Clock Roaches, Buu has his sea monsters, Goku\Vegeta have their golden Freeza, everyone's had a moment where they looked good lately, seems nothing conceivable can threaten Earth and then Beerus beats SS3 Goku with two moves, knocks out Buu+Gohan and can't be beat even with a new form. The events in between also leave plenty of room for Champa\Whine shenanigans.
Alternatively, it happens after the series finale and Uub, who has also been training for four months, is the one to step up and beat down Golden Freeza. Something still needs to preoccupy Buu, Goten, Trunks and Pan though...or maybe Trunks is simply the one to kill Freeza, again. And the whole time he's just confused about why Freeza is so angry with him.

Buldogue's lawyerAnother possible time for it to take place (and where I think Toriyama originally intended for it to be) would be in the place of Mecha Freeza and King Cold coming to Earth. Freeza is regenerated after his fight with Goku and, after training, comes to Earth with his army. Gohan, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Tenshinhan, and Roshi (notice that there are no characters from the Cell Saga or Buu Saga here) have to hold off his army until Goku (and Vegeta) get back from space. Goku and Vegeta get back from space and Goku fights Freeza. Freeza reveals his Golden form and Goku fights him in Super Saiyan. Goku is cheap-shotted and Freeza offers Vegeta a job under him. Vegeta refuses, turns Super Saiyan, and beats Freeza up.
This is my best guess for what the actual plot outline was and I think most of the problems with Resurrection 'F' are a result of following it too closely.
I updated the Dragon Ball Game Nth stuff with more option stuff and the movesets for Goku's family.
Far from done, but what do ya think? Would ya want a game like that? If you want something from another genre, what'd ya like from it?

I prefer the idea of only having one Kamehameha that charges into a Super Kamehameha that tons of characters have. No need to bloat the movepool with tons of Kamehameha's when you could easily just have one. Regarding Ultimates, I prefer the idea of just getting rid of them and having the charged up Super moves serve the same purpose.
Because, just like in the originating scene, the Golden Dragon wraps around the stage before charging towards the grounded opponent. (Instead of a powerful one-hit punch, it's a multi-hit super punch)
Plus, City-Wrapping Dragon Fist doesn't sound as catchy.

In the tournament itself or the preliminaries?
