No, it makes sense. When you have great strength and don't want to crush something, you be gentle with it.
When you want to hold back but still want to score in a certain range, that can be difficult. It's easy not to smash and egg and easier to smash it. Break off the top shell while leaving the rest intact though? Much harder.
It also makes sense, considering Gohan and Goku did every day tasks while in their super modes as a form of training, so they should have the most restraint.
Buldogue's lawyerYa know, given how much fans seem to love him, I'm surprised that the Budoukai Announcer has gone unnamed.

Tekken and Street Fighter and Dark Stalkers and Mortal Kombat and King of Fighters and Aliens vs Predator and Marvel vs Capcom, I'll admit that barely scratches the surface of the sheer amount of arcade games that have been released since their inception, but I've never heard of one being constantly updated in this fashion - Street Fighter at least had to come up with a different name and re-release as "Ultra/Turbo/Super".
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!All of those franchises started before updating cabinets was as easy as it is now, meaning sequels were the only practical way for updates. And now they're developed with the intention of being ported to consoles (well, for Tekken/SF/KM and MvC at least) so separate games is still the best model.
A card game like Heroes is extremely easy to update now, there are plenty of others like it.
Oh, and Zenkai Battle Royale is still being updated. It's only been out a year less than Heroes.
Dragon Ball Heroes is a Japanese Data Carddass Arcade Game. (meaning it uses trading cards as part of it's controls)
You chose 1 out of 21 avatar characters (3 male Saiyans, 3 female Saiyans, 3 Majin, 3 Namekians, 3 Changelings, 3 Androids and 3 Supreme Kais) and can have a team of 5 characters during each battle. You control each character by moving their respective trading card on top of the special card playing surface of the arcade machine.
As of God Mission 4, DBH has been going on for 5 years now and currently has well over 300 characters (including transformations and fusions) has gone through 4 "sagas": The Original Saga (8 Updates), the Galaxy Mission Saga (10 Updates: The First Half of GT and some Movies), the Jaaku Mission Saga (8 Updates: The Second Half of GT) and currently the God Mission Saga (4 Updates so far: Dragon Ball Super and Online). The game has been ported to the 3DS twice as the Ultimate Mission series and has an official manga by DBAF author Toyotaro called Victory Mission.
Here's a gameplay trailer of God Mission 3 to help you visualize what kind of game DBH is.

Yeah, the way everyone was holding back their power on the punching machine makes it impossible to use it as a gauge of anybody's battle power. Except Vegeta, who got to reenact his fondness for making scouters explode on Namek.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
