The Kiezan doesn't rely on power due to it's nature as a cutting attack.
The reason Frieza and Nappa had to dodge it is because if it hit them, regardless of their greater power, they would have been cut like bitches.
One Strip! One Strip!Frieza was cut like bitches. He lost his tail to the kienzan.

The kienzan shattering on his neck is filler.

Huh. Didn't think about the whole regeneration thing.
Then again, Buu did the same, and we know Cell can survive losing his head.
One Strip! One Strip!......
But that's how it's always been.
Unless you want to acknowledge Tien, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu beating the Ginyus as well?
One Strip! One Strip!I'd be able to overlook the Kienzan thing just because it being able to cut through anything or anyone no matter how powerful never sat right with me. I'm not going to debate that it's cannon, just saying it just straight up not working on Cell is more believable filler than those three taking out the Ginyus (even if I did really enjoy that episode).
I can accept both the Kienzan breaking and the humans beating the Ginyus. The former because Kienzan being able to cut through absolutely anything seems very iffy to me in spite of the great power disparity between the user and affected targets.
The latter because King Kai's training is beast, and because in the end they didn't even end up doing the damage that Vegeta did to Recoome at a PL of around 30,000. They kept up with them and knocked 'em off the arena. Is that really a stretch for power-gain by Dragon Ball standards?
Nope.
Ki is the energy the characters regularly use. The Genki-Dama absorbs a different kind of energy generated by everything; not just animals, but trees, rocks, and even the sun produce genki.

From an interview
with Toriyama in the Super Exciting Guide: Story Volume:
Q:What is the key to winning in battle?
A:In battle, the most important thing is the size of your ki, and your control over it. Ki as a concept of course includes such spiritual powers as energy (genki), courage (yūki), and right-mindedness (shōki)note . No matter how much you train, there are limits to physical strength, and the only way to overcome that is through ki. I think Goku was able to approach the mightiest warriors in the universe through strengthening his ki.
TL;DR version: No, apparently.

So I finally watched Super episodes 5 and 6.
My thoughts:
- Man, I know everyone said they had shit animation for these eps, and there was that one bit shown in a gif in a previous post, but I'm sure that I won't really not.....
0_0;
Wow. That's awful. Not even I can miss how bad it is. The people responsible should be beaten.
- They left out Bingo. That's even worse.
Otherwise, I had no problem with either.
Goku sensing he needed to pull back, despite not being able to sense Godly Ki was interesting. Nobody can say he doesn't have sharp instincts.
Next week (well, this sunday really), Beerus slaps a lot of bitches.

One Strip! One Strip!Raditz' 1500 does make sense. Notably, when he commented on Gohan's 1,307 he said it was stronger than Goku not himself. The fact that he could be killed by an attack of 1,330 doesn't make him weaker than that level especially when the Makankosappo is noted to have additional piercing strength.
In his powers, but in his motives he was more like Perfect Cell. He combines the worst of both characters, really.
By the way, one more comment of Vegeta actually being a decent husband and father. It's really several times more hilarious with the more recent revelations about Saiyan "families" - namely, casual sex to prolong the race, grow the kids in tanks and ship them out conquering for the PTO as soon as they can walk. So here's Vegeta, Mr. Saiyan Pride himself... and he's a normal Earth dad. That is, in my view, an absolute laugh-riot.

I have a suspicion that Krillin's power beams are more powerful than he is himself. One of them oneshotted all but one of the Saibamen despite the power difference not being that big, and both Nappa and second-form Frieza were afraid of the Kienzan.
