Oh, right. Yu Yu Hakusho.

I'm not sure what the overall opinion on it is, but Yusuke's 'hold your frigging breath! line still cracks me up.
One Strip! One Strip!......Right, you're all gonna kill me, but I'm curious enough to ask:
We know that if you're power level is lower than the guy your fighting, you simply don't stand a chance, no matter what fancy techniques you have.
Piccollo was 3500 and Nappa was 4000, while there was a 30 million difference between Frieza and Super Saiyan Goku.
So my question is, how low can the difference be between a fighter being completely outmatched, and still having a chance, but it being an up-hill battle?
It's something I'm really wondering about now, since equal fights in DBZ aren't really that common. Maybe in Dragon Ball, but definitely not Dragon Ball Z.
One Strip! One Strip!Given the low scale of Dragon Ball, the gap is likely pretty small. I mean, Piccolo was only about 500 weaker than Nappa and couldn't win even with help.
No he couldn't.

Yeah. Goku was still holding back by not using the Kaiouken, so he was still stronger..... right?
Anyway, yeah, the gap seems pretty small.
I think the one time where the gap was small enough was Super Saiyan 3 Goku vs Pure Buu. Goku didn't lose because he was weaker, but because the power drain of three meant he couldn't keep up that pace.

One Strip! One Strip!Vegeta is very frequently wrong about a lot of things.
Adult Saiyans' tails don't seem to grow back like younger saiyans' do.
Here's a fun bit: Yes, Piccolo was only 500 below Nappa.
Someone said that with a gap that's small, it comes down to skill... and this holds true for this fight.
Nappa is considerably more skilled than Piccolo is. Nappa isn't just a brute, he actually manages to bridge a much larger gap between himself and Goku by simply fighting calmly and using the full extent of his skills. Nappa is more skilled than Goku and the margin between them is so large that despite being twice as powerful, Goku was not completely steamrolling Nappa with no effort whatsoever.
To put it simply: Nappa was actually Weak, but Skilled.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariNo he isn't. Nappa is the opposite of skilled, he's a bumbling fool who had way more problems with Z fighters than he should simply because his incompetence allowed them to land one free shot after another. Hell, if it wasn't for Vegeta, Krillin would have actually killed him with Kiezan then and there. If it wasn't for Gohan breaking under the pressure he would have been beaten even earlier, and Tenshinhan's one handed Kiaho almost got him too.
All Nappa really had going for him was his power level and his freaky toughnesses. He wasn't a skilled fighter, he was a brute.

I think you give too much credit to the Weekly Jump/Daizenshuu 7 power levels. They have Raditz at 1500, which doesn't make sense considering how much he was freaking out over Piccolo's 1330 and Gohan's 1307.
And even if they are true, the 3500 probably represents Piccolo's maximum power level, which he can't maintain for long(like it has Gohan at 2800, the power he had when he charged his Masenko after Piccolo's death), while Nappa's power level is constant.

I can destroy you all by continuing to drag it out until you all get sick of it and leave in disgust.
