Maybe I'm alone on this but I was pretty satisfied with DB being largely done with. Not that I have anything against Super, Battle of the Gods, and whatever else they've made since, but I just didn't feel that a continuation of dragon ball was really necessary.
Okay, then, you're okay with games being more Ultimate Tenkaichi and Battle of Z instead of more Xenoverse.
Because I'm fairly sure that Xenoverse would not have happened if DBE hadn't shown that we give a shit about Dragon Ball.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariI personally love that more Dragon Ball is being created. Nothing beats the feeling of seeing something completely new.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Huh.
I once joked that evolution was a dead end (wish I could remember that page so I could link to it) but it seems it was nothing more than a speed bump towards something better.
How ironic.
And if I used Ironic wrong, I just want to all to know I don't care.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I personally consider that to be a difference in taste. I get that Toriyama has a unique sense of humor and respect that he's free to do what he wants. I just think Great Saiyaman was goofy as hell and was rather contrived. Like Gohan never understood why he was being made fun of, only altered the costume once, and even then it's a poor disguise.
Heck, if he'd just gotten rid of the cape, I'd love the outfit.
Also, in a series where most of the characters are muscle-bound badasses, well... I think it avoided a lot of the things I didn't like about Western superheroes, those silly secret identities, heroes who were immaculate and sharp-chinned. I liked how the heroes transformed, how the entire world might be threatened and there wasn't a "Justice League" to deal with it, how the Z-Fighters fought in their "streets/japanese martial arts clothing". It seemed adverse to typical superhero tropes for a show that was heavy on the action.
So when Z had Gohan dress in a superhero costume, I just groaned.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!One of the best parts about the Great Saiyaman is how it parodies the Superhero genre. As you guys have said, Dragon Ball is SO different to Western superheroes. When they played it straight, they played it realistically. Gohan's dressing up as a superhero...and EVERYONE thinks it looks ridiculous.

The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Hey.
Don't be knockin' the leotard now.
[[quoteblock]]like Bardock the Father of Goku except without the stupid psychic powers, or the History of Trunks Special except done differently (in this version, Trunks turns Super Saiyan in response to Gohan getting his arm ripped off).
Everything else, sure. These?
Boss Rabbit doesn't need a dose of a realism when the main character gets shot in the head in the 1st chapter and rubs it off.
Freeza dies, he doesn't need to train. He doesn't need to come back. Revenge of F is being overtaken by Super anyway.
Those psychic powers are what made the Bardock film, its the tragedy that Bardock sees his end and what his son will become, and his defiance/acceptance of those things that make the character so well-received. Or, his "badass Goku/Turtles" look, I'm not sure which.
Emotional impact is probably a lot higher when you see your mentor and best friend dead before you, opposed to just seeing him get his arm torn off.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!At least in my opinion, the best way to make a live-action Dragon Ball film series is to keep the characters and settings the same, but to change up the storyline a little bit. Also by replacing training with strategy. Like, having the reason Vegeta lost against Zarbon the first time because he wasn't expecting a transformation. So the next time they fought, Vegeta was prepared and was able to win. As opposed to just 'he won because he got a Zenkai boost'.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!It will if my five fingers ask it a question.
Nobody mocks the Great Saiyaman. Ever.

I was just going to have Boss Rabbit be sent to a moon-themed prison with a community service program that involved making toys for children In regards to Resurrection F, I'm banking on the idea that Super will still include some version of it with my version of those events being a combination of Battle of Gods and Resurrection F although I'm undecided and will change my mind if Super does something different. In regards to Bardock and Future Trunks: I think that the Psychic powers is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen and essentially my version will be a combination of Bardock: Father of Goku, Dragon Ball Minus, Vegeta's flashback to Beerus meeting King Vegeta, Tarble's birth, and Beerus' meeting with Freeza. In regards to Future Trunks I like the manga's take better and I want SS 1 Trunks training with Gohan though I will take inspiration from the Special.

i was talking about the franchise continuing in general, dude. i don't even play dragon ball games lol. i mean if i end up enjoying super and all the other stuff they've made since then it's a moot point, i was just saying that i wasn't exactly starving for new dragon ball content.

Because it pissed everyone right off, and outrage, anger and backlash is the only language that'll ever be heard.
This is why whiny tantrums win where organized resistances fail.
