No, Chi-Chi had to stay behind because....
...because....
...uh....
...that is a really good question.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Which, really, would have been the smart thing to do given what they were facing.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Having Chi-Chi there would have given Bulma someone to talk to, at least. They could be livid at Gohan and Krillin together.
- BULMA: Holy crap, was that VEGETA with them?!
- CHI-CHI: What's a Vegeta now?
- BULMA: I could fill a house with all the things you don't know about your husband's life.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I personally always liked the idea that Gohan's hidden potential is something he got from Chichi.
I mean. When we met the Ox King, Goku's attacks didn't even faze him. And I think a guide put his power level at like 800 something.
But he didn't know how to use ki, and he never trained with Korin or Kami or King Kai. And he was kinda slow.
At the only world tournament she entered, Chichi was at 130, almost as strong as Roshi.
Where Videl seems to be really good at picking up skills in spite of a somewhat low base power, it seems like Ox King and Chich are bad at picking up skills, but have higher base power than average.
...Of course. The main thing with Gohan's hidden potential is it tends to come out when he's angry. And that amazingly bad anger management ability is almost definitely something he got from Chichi.
Anyway. Personally, my main problem with Chichi's established personality in Z is that it shows an amazing lack of self-awareness on her part. If Goku didn't know or care about martial arts, he would never have gone looking for the Dragon Balls and they never would have met. If Chichi didn't know martial arts they would never have gotten married. If Ox King didn't know martial arts he would never have terrorized the countryside and become a king, and they wouldn't have money. Also he would never have gotten that Dragon Ball and she and Goku would never have met.
I mean. I can understand if what she meant was that Gohan shouldn't really be learning martial arts and doing intense training at 4. That studying is more important, but if he wants a little bit of training for fun or exercise when he's old enough that's fine.
Which isn't what Goku said at that meeting at Kame House, and doesn't work out in light of later developments with Chichi, but. Well, it's possible Goku could have misunderstood what she meant. That's not very far outside the realm of plausibility.
...Actually, training to fight killer androids probably doesn't count as just "fun" or "exercise" come to think of it.
And, well, the fact that Goku lied about Gohan not fighting Cell was. Well. A bit of a dick move. I don't think that should be a controversial statement.
...Who would win in a fight between Hercule and Chichi? Like, as-is, in-series. If she had gotten bored at some point during the Frieza or Trunks sagas, and heard that the World Tournament was going on again, and decided to enter for the hell of it, would she have ended up as the champion of Earth? Serious question.
Also, I mean. Her dad was pretty strong, so why didn't he go train with Kami? Yajirobe and Yamcha did.

I don't think people seem to understand that Chi-Chi is a mother above anything else :V, she doesn't have time to be trying to fight people far out of her league.
Like come on, I know this is a fighting genre and all, but not every character needs to be a fighter.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does....By "people" do you mean me? Because nobody else here said anything about it.
I'm not saying have Bulma or Launch beat people up.
The first time we met Chichi she zapped Yamcha, and the second time she made it to the finals of the World Tournament.
She seemed to be legitimately strong and fast. Not as strong as Goku, but nobody but Majunior was at that point.
And I would think being a stay at home mother is difficult when your child and husband are in space and you aren't. She has to have something to do during that time.
...Also, plenty of mothers are things like martial arts instructors and police officers and soldiers so I don't think you have a point there to begin with.
...I mean, did you just imply that Mr. Satan was out of Chichi's league?
Because damn that's harsh.
Otherwise. Yamcha, Krillin and Tien trained for half a year with Kami and half a year solo and ended up roughly as strong as Raditz. Five times stronger than Goku was when he killed King Piccolo.
Goku trained for a year with King Kai and ended up. Like. 26 times stronger or some shit.
I mean, the main concern with me is and always will be personality. And Chichi's personality. Doesn't quite fit her actual backstory.

Vegeta and Bulma are awful people.
...I keep seeing gifs of Vegeta from this last episode of Super and I love it.
I've already said my theory on Chi-Chi. And yeah the Vegeta episode of Dragon Ball Super feels like it was written by Stupid Doom Doodles (very much a good thing).

Judging by the names of episodes 3, 4 and 5, I feel that DBS might have already retconned the timeline placement of Battle of Gods.
What does this mean for the ritual if Videl isn't pregnant yet? Is Tarble gonna make an appearance and help connect Battle of Gods and Ressurection F? Is that why Abo and Kado are still a part of Frieza's army despite his death many years ago?

If it was
, it'd be a lot less entertaining with everyone being out of character for laughs.
This was good because the writers, unlike much of the fanbase, remembered that Vegeta isn't tsundere. He doesn't enjoy family activities, but he does them out of love for his family members.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Show me one instance in the manga of Vegeta acting deredere.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I really think you need to learn the definition of "Tsundere."
To put it simply, you've shown him acting tsun tsun. Now you just need the other half.

Space is dangerous. Even if you discount alien warlords and planet-bursting superkillers, even so much as a crossed wire and bam, Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma die alone in the vacuum of space and Chi-Chi never finds out what happened to them.
Grown men spend many years training their bodies and minds for the rigors of space and for good reason. There is zero margin for error. If anything goes wrong, nobody is coming to save you, and you better just hope you can deal with it before space murders you. In space, death is the default state of being.
It's no place for a child, especially in a jury-rigged ship refurbished from an ancient wreck that nobody really understands how to operate.
I blame the Great Saiyaman costume on the Ginyu Force. They traumatized him at an early age.
Apparently he's spent much of his developmental stages looking back on Recoome and Burter and them and going, "They were assholes who tried to kill us, but damn if they weren't so cool!"
