This.
Goku doesn't have much brain left as it is.
I'm not sure he can afford to lose what little he's got.

I... didn't care too much for that one. Great concept, but I wanted to see more of the alternate universe. They start with this great scene, with the alternate-Joker and Lex. We get a few looks at some of the alternate Leaguers and a few scenes with Owlman and Su-
But, that said, it was way better than Time Trapper.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Oh, are they bloody serious? What was so bad about the old fight? It's the video-equivalent of clickbait at this point.
Anyway, I have a feeling that they're getting the Super Dragon Balls on behalf of someone else. Maybe they do something specific, or maybe a villain is trying to collect them for themselves to rule the multiverse or something.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!I think that's the real problem with Goku vs. Superman 2. Samus vs. Boba Fett was a remaster of the very first deathbattle and dedicated to the memory of Monty Oum, but this is outright capable of changing the original result in such a way that it could guarantee a third fight after Super finishes.
Even worse, it opens the door for more rematches for popular characters to beat people they lost to based on nothing more than fan demand and the loser getting canonically more powerful.

Not to mention, we have almost NO indication of Super Saiyan God's strength. There are no multipliers. No canon power levels. There isn't even an explanation on how powerful Beerus is!
Like, I am a huge Dragon Ball fan, but even I have to admit Superman is definitely stronger and we should shut up about it.

I'm sorry, there's no power leveling your way through that.
The fact that Superman can do that is in instant-win condition.
I mean, in the Justice Lords episode of Justice League had the evil Superman doing it through a supervillain's skull.
And the impression I got of the Justice Lords wasn't that they were stronger than the regular versions, just more ruthless.
Goku already has a little bit of brain damage. I don't think more will be good for him.

Like I said, Superman is as strong as he needs to be to facilitate the plot. Even if said plot is his defeat.
So it's just as easy to justify him lossing against Goku as it is to justify him defeating Goku.
