Must be the day a new episode comes out.
Anyway. It seems to actually be not the best time to remake this episode. You just know that Super is going to juice up Goku again the day after the DB rematch comes out, ensuring nothing is resolved.

I have a message from another time...Since DBS is re-doing everything between the end of the Buu Saga up to Resurrection F before heading onto the Super Dragon Ball Saga, how many episodes do y'all think the God Saga will be?
I want to say 20-25 episodes, which I think seems to be a good amount to cover YSGFR, BOG and RF along with some slice of life episodes.
There is no logic to redoing the Superman v. Goku match ever, no matter how many times Goku gains a new transformation with higher power.
The logic behind Superman's victory was narrative, not rooted in feat comparisons and battle stats, "Goku's story is about overcoming his limitations while Superman's story is about not having any limitations." YMMV on the accuracy of that statement, but that's what they went with.
If that logic has not changed, then it doesn't matter what new transformations he acquires, Goku's story is still about overcoming limitations. If that logic has changed, then having a new transformation doesn't mean much because the match is being reconsidered under a completely different criteria anyway.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. Those people should be beaten.
I like them both, but if a fight is ever decided by who I like more, then the whole process is unarguably tainted....
which may be why people are questioning the integrity of Death Battle lately.
One Strip! One Strip!I personally don't like Superman that much either, and I like Goku a lot (frankly, the only reason I watched the episode is because of how much I adore Masako X) but I think that, given the evidence presented, and given what I know of both characters from my experience with Dragon Ball and the DCAU, Superman is probably the one must likely to win.
Gold should be about as bendable as Platinum.

The Rule with Superman is that he is exactly as strong as he needs to be. Superman's strength is theoretically infinite and he has never truly found something that made him find a limit to his strength, speed or endurance. His only limits are those he places upon himself.
The fight is incredibly one sided because Superman under Death Battle rules is flat out invincible, because under Death Battle rules Superman would fight to the full extent of his ability from moment zero and instantly win any battle.

The DCAU is good and iconic for a reason but their Clark doesn't has anywhere near as much power as other versions of Clark, or even Goku himself, have. If you don't mind me asking, why do you think Clark would win based on it?
As for Personality... personally, Goku is still one of my all-time favorite childhood heroes. But as far as Clark goes I generally don't like treating him as a single character with a consistent personality. As I feel that forgets the many, many ways his story and character have been interpreted and re-interpreted throughout the ages.

"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Death Battle used a composite of Goku from all the movies and filler and crap (while discounting the bits of filler that contradict or are contradicted by the manga), and they used a composite of Superman from all the sources they could.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariIt tickles me that Goku got to come back to life for a day just for being a good guy. Superman never got to do that. (Although, an evil version of him did rewrite history by punching the walls of reality)
The Death of Superman?
Doomsday beat him within an inch of his life!
