Saiga tried to write a script for Movie 15 but it kept getting rejected. All the rejected scripts had "NOT ENOUGH OVERPOWERED GOKU' written on them in big red marker.

Finally he just gave up. The second page of his script ends with "..and Goku got a massive powerup and beat the villain somehow".

They loved it.

True story, the script for Movie 10 was approved based solely on the last page that says "and Goku's soul joins in the Kamehameha with the other two."

That's how the rest of that shitfest got made.

How come this franchise likes blasting people into the sun? Cooler, Broly, and Baby all suffer that fate, even if Cooler survived.

If you need something dead, the freaking Sun is a good way to do it.

But Cooler was cooler and survived.

I wonder if they have a relative named Minifridge?

Filler Goku survived being near a sun didn't he? God, how do I remember that? I only ever saw that when I was watching DBZ for teh first time on Cartoon Network.

As for being blasted into a star, it's pretty awesome. They need to one up themselves though by knocking someone into a blackhole.

But then it'll take forever for the villain to actually get dragged into the center.

I once thought up a Freeza-clan OC called Chillybin.

"...and then, Gohan finds his resolve on his own, knowing he doesn't need his father to save him anymore, and defeats Bojack."

"What? You mean that Goku bails Gohan out, and Gohan goes on to have a speech about how he's only worth shit because of his father, right?"

"That sounds terrible-"

"How is your family, by the way? Haven't come down with a case of murder, right?"

"I'll have the corrections done by Monday."

"So then Trunks, defending his friend Tapion, leaps at Hirudegarn with the sword, cleaves through his tail, and eventually drives it right through Hirudegarn's skull!"

"Excellent! That Dragon Fist technique Goku uses sounds pretty cool!"

"But I didn't say anything about-"

"Just throw in a line of Goku telling Trunks off for interfering in his battle with Hirudegarn, gotta teach him his place, after all."

I actually really like Dragon Fist, even if Goku stole the spotlight to use it. tongue

I haven't actually seen the movie but if the Budokai 3 version is anything to go by, it's just how he beat King Piccolo...but with a dragon instead of Great Aape/Oozaru.

He should have beaten Slug with "Dragon Fist."

[up] Not really. He punches the air and Shenlong comes out of nowhere and entangles Hildegaan, then BOOM.

The Budokai 3 game named it Super Dragon Fist because they used the Dragon Fist theme naming a lot. Goku's had Super Dragon Fist in Budokai 1 as a "punch them a lot" move, in 2/3/IW it's a melee move that is apparently related to the Kaio-ken, and Kid Goku's Ultimate he used on Piccolo, and a move Super Saiyan 1/2/3 Goku uses when he absorbs the Spirit Bomb.

When it comes to Budokai, everything is Dragon Fist.

If GT's uses of the Dragon Fist are to be believed, Goku is inside the head of that ki-dragon, delivering the supercharged punch himself. That's how I like to see it, even in Hirudegarn's demise.

[up] GT uses it three different ways. The rip-off of the way he killed Piccolo but with Dragons and Kamehamehas, a Dragon Fist Kamehameha which is a smaller rip-off of how he killed Hildegaan, and a punch on a downed opponent.

True, and the Eis Shenron one has Goku standing there while the ki dragon is flying around without him.

The Omega Shenron gut punch variant is the one I usually think of.

I'm rewatching the start of the Cell saga and there's one part of it that bothers me.

Mirai Trunks travels back in time and warns Goku of the androids. Shortly after that he vanishes. Piccolo and Goku know who he is but keep it a secret from the others so Bulma and Vegeta will still get together. While I find it really odd that neither of them was forced to explain who he is I'll just assume the others gave up on trying to figure it out during the time skip when they kept saying nothing on the subject.

Now there's another problem. During the time skip Trunks is born and Vegeta knows he exists. He might not know the name of Mirai Trunks but his son is a hybrid like Gohan and has the same color hair as the Saiyan boy that came from the future. Shouldn't he have been able to figure it out before he heard Mirai's name based on that?

So is Vegeta stupid or is this a plot hole that the anime created?

Vegeta is stupid.

Even if it is a problem caused by the anime I never watched, I'm going to go with my default explanation.

Remember, the other's never knew the name of the guy from the Future.

They only learned he was Trunks after his younger self was already born.

[up][up] and [up]To be more precise, Vegeta is too selfish and single mindedly focused on growing stronger to think about the point you brought up until the evidence is dropped right on his head. He even rips on himself for not realizing it when Piccolo gives it away.

Baby Trunks didn't have his hair colour yet, and he didn't know Future Trunks' name.

And yeah, he did figure it out on hearing future Trunks' name.

I wonder where his purplish hair comes from...? Bulma's is blue, Vegeta's is black, and I very much doubt anyone on Vegeta's side had purple since the Saiyans all seem to be black-haired. Mrs. Brief's hair is blonde, and Dr. Briefs... I wonder what color his was? If it was purple, then I'd wonder how Bulma got blue hair, and it it was blue, I'd wonder where Trunks got his purple from...

I heard that her hair was always meant to be that purple gray color but when the show started they screwed it up and made it blue for some reason. They wound up staying with it.

Something similar happened with Vegeta and Nappa but for some reason they reverted back to the proper color.
