Just skip the first 16 episodes and you should be fine. tongue

GT is like the Krillin to Z's Goku. Weaker, less popular, and people love to make fun of it and mock it, but has some charm and is still somewhat strong compared to tons of other stuff out there.

I would have used Yamcha as the analogy, but that would be insulting GT. Yamcha is more like the... Yamcha.

NOTHING is as bad as Yamcha. He's the absolute bottom of the barrel. In the ground beneath the barrel's bottom, in fact. Sort of like a reverse Chuck Norris joke.

Still stronger during his last fight than Raditz was in his.

Also, am I one of the few people who likes Raditz?

A lot of people like Raditz actually. Check out You Tube for tributes and AM Vs with him.

There's something to be said for overwhelming power, even if it is fleeting. He came into the series and effortlessly stomped the two strongest characters. Goku trained for years, fought the mightiest beings on his planet, and only gained a few hundred levels. Raditz meanwhile arrived with a PL of 1,200.

He also has a pretty cool design. I like the long hair and no pants Saiyan armor look. (seriously, it looks cool on muscular characters like him)

The only bad thing about Raditz was the fact he was Goku's brotehr. That was unnecessary and stupid.

Yamcha's power level goes down when he trains. He's far into the negatives, that's why he stopped training.

And the only bad thing about Raditz being Goku's brother is because They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character. I think a lot of his fans see that wasted potential.

Eh, not really. Neither of them cared much about the other, and it's hard to build on a relationship when no side really cares about the other, for better or worse.

Here's a question I've seen debated a few times - ignoring the Super Saiyan Bardock special, where do you think Bardock went after he died? Above or below?

Well then, like I said, stupid. Why even have him be Goku's brother? It's dumb.

[up] Probably below. He liked his people but his people were bloodthirsty maniacs.

You know what's funny, regarding GT? "Eis" is German for ice, but can also mean ice cream. The Three-Star Dragon is Ice Cream Shenron!

About the spirit bomb killing Buu. When you put it that way I suppose it working makes sense in universe but that doesn't make it good writing in my mind.

I'm indifferent to Raditz. The only one of the three I care about is Vegeta. The other two were just generic brutes.

I like the idea of him driving an ice cream truck and wearing a funny hat.

Kid: "Mister Eis, the gumball eyes on this ice pop are all weird!"

Eis Shenron: "WATCH YOUR EYES!!" *Slashes the gumballs into a more natural position*

Kid: "Thanks, Mister Eis!"

Eis Shenron: "Anything to win... the sight of a smiling child."

So I have a trope-related question.

Wouldn't "Broly - his power is maximum" go under Memetic Mutation for DBZ? It is a DB-related meme after all. And yet it's not on the page...

[up] Yes.

Raditz wasn't wasted. He filled his purpose in the story and sticking around would just be tacky.

@VR That's mostly bullshit. Toriyama was involved, there's no official word on canon (and the main scriptwriter is Yusuke Watanabe) and there's nothing been said about a new series.

@Cider That's not how fusion works. You already have to be close in power to use the fusion technique at all. If you're close in power, then you can lower your power to match the weaker partner.

@Random Nope, twenty points weaker than Raditz actually.

I used to really like the Spirit Bomb ending to Z until I realized that while cool in theory, it was a completely unnecessary risk to take and isn't really justifiable.

On the idea of a Cell/Frieza fusion - couldn't Cell just absorb Frieza? He absorbed Krillin in Budokai 1, after all, as non-canon as that was.

Look at how well that turned out for him.tongue

Seriously though, I don't think Cell's open tail method would work on just anyone, just the Androids. He can still do his usual method that he absorbed the humans with, but who knows how effective that is.

There's a pretty big difference between Krillin and Frieza.

By the time you get to Cell, that difference is irrelevant.

So here's a question.

Why was Bulma even in the Namek Arc? We all know about the filler in the anime and a lot of it is with her because she was just off being totally worthless and irrelevant so why not switch over to her.

So...why was she even there in canon?
