The spirit bomb could still be in there(it only ever worked that one time) but I somewhat like you idea. Let the others do something for once.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, I like how Vegeta and Fat Buu got their turns with Kid Buu, disappointed Gohan didn't get to do anything given how significant him getting the powerup was. But then again, he would have defeated Kid Buu without the need for any Spirit Bomb at that point.
Hmm...
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! My problem with the spirit bomb is twofold.
1. This thing couldn't even take out Frieza but it kills Buu? He's at least 1000x stronger, possibly more.
2. There were about five shonen upgrades yet Buu is killed by something that debuted in the first saga? Yeah, that's not bad writing or anything.
Also I think Vegeto defusing was an asspull and I'd have liked it if the Z Fighters fought as a team in the final battle but that's a different issue from the spirit bomb.
One thing I liked about GT was the Universal Spirit Bomb. Energy from four galaxies > Big Bad is certainly more logical and impressive than just Earth's energy.
Don't they abuse the Spirit Bomb in the DBZ Movies though? I only watched TFS versions of the movies but they kinda lampshade it in one of them. ("Oh, let me guess, you're gonna use the Spirit Bomb" or something like that)
Yay Pan! She could finally go SSJ.
Super Saiyan women are much overdo.

The Frieza spirit bomb was mostly made with energy from just the planets and nature, while the Kid Buu one was made with energy from all the humans and other people on earth further helped by Mr. Satan's rallying cry, including several very powerful ones like Gohan, Piccolo, Androids 17 and 18, ect.
And yeah, they tended to abuse the Spirit Bomb in the earlier movies. Goku finishes off Dr. Wheelo, Turles, and Lord Slug (3 consecutive villains) with the Spirit Bomb, and in one ending to Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans he uses it again. Super Android 13 has him charging up a Spirit Bomb, but it totally subverts the use of it, which was pretty cool.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! That is an alternate ending, the regular ending has them use all their special moves on Hatchyak and another has them take out Dr. Raichi early and make him a non issue.
As for it, the difference between the Spirit bomb with Freeza and the Spirit Bomb with Kid Buu was the content. Android 17 made that thing better than Namek's by himself, it left Earth's population totally drained and Goku was much stronger and in Super Saiyan to boot.

Freeza and Cell could totally fuse, all Cell would have to do is lower his powerful level to that of Freeza's, the Earth Fighters can do that remember?
Not sure how much of a benefit it would be though, especially since it would only last for thirty minutes. Now, as for Kibito Kai/shin, I do not see why he would not be strong enough to fight Buu, but then again, unlike Gotenks he has no Super Modes (Gotenks had 3). Still, I thought he should have at least been strong enough to help against Kid Buu, if not Super Buu.
