If I wanted Goku Vs. Godzilla, I would of just of had Toho and toei do a Dragon Ball and Godzilla Crossover.
Watch SymphogearI actually liked Cooler, probably in no small part because Cooler's Revenge is my favorite of the movies, but I hate Broly. He's big. He smashes stuff. Fascinating. He wouldn't be such a bad character if so many people didn't insist he was the strongest in the series who couldn't be beat. When in reality, Super Saiyan 2 Gohan as a teen probably could have curb-stomped him. It's especially frustrating that the video games are always showing him to be on-par with Super Saiyan Gogeta, and one of the latest makes him a Super Saiyan 3. He's just a terrible fanfic character.
That's right, boys. Mondo cool.Cooler's true form also resembles The Shredder, so that gives him points by default.

That's the origin? Blah, guess I've been romanizing the name wrong then.
This may sound like beating a dead horse, but I never understood why people say that the Goku/Freeza fight lasted too long? Last time I checked the manga, the fight technically lasted 19 chapters, so having the fight last 19 episodes, seems reasonable doesn't it? You have to take into consideration that the anime was being produced very close to when the manga was being produced and at some points characters were being introduced in the anime BEFORE they were introduced in the manga. I understand the whole '5 minutes' scenario is ridiculous, but that in my opinion this was down to Freeza overestimating his ability because he couldn't handle the fact that he was getting his ass kicked by Super Saiyan Goku. Or was the fight the epitome of stretching for time?

I don't necessarily hate the fact that the fight is so long since it's one of the best in the series(although even as a kid I was thinking near the end "Just finish this fight already!"). The primary problem I have with it is that about nine episodes of that apparently takes place in the span of five minutes. They could have changed it to five hours in the dub to solve this problem but for some reason they didn't.

Complaining about the length of the Freeza fight in the "anime" is missing the entire point. The cartoon was not spectacular to begin with and got terrible once it caught up to the comic. On panel you can read the entire Goku/Freeza fight in one hour. On screen the Super Saiyan portion is at least three hours.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackDuring my last re-watch of the Freeza Saga I ended up skipping a ton of the episodes. I have no idea how I was glued to every damn episode when I first saw it on Cartoon Network.
So, question. Why did Vegeta try to blow up the Earth AND THEN turn into Oozaru when that failed? The latter seems like a much better plan as it's not suicidal.
I realize he was enraged and probably not thinking clearly but why would having his attack overpowered by Goku make him think more clearly? Shouldn't he be even more irrational and crazed?
Looking a bit Village People there, Ox King. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Why are Pilaf, Mai and Shuu little children now?
Also, apparently Gohan has anorexia now.

Because they waned to restore their youth, but became too young and turned into kids.
Watch Symphogear19 chapters > 19 episodes is about as unreasonable as you can get. Even 2:1 isn't a reasonable ratio, as that fits current manga (Dragon Ball had fewer pages in each chapter than current manga). 50 pages is about what it takes to have an episode that isn't padded out (2-3 current manga chapters or 4-5 Dragon Ball ones) which is why 1:1 is terrible for Dragon Ball.
@Nik my memory of the dialogue is fuzzy but I'm pretty sure Vegeta was trying to goad Goku into taking the attack to stop it from destroying Earth.

Ya know, I'm curious about something. Saiga and I both post on the Daizenshuu/Kaizenshuu forums and I'm sure a few others here do as well. Anybody who posts there is aware of the general contempt held for FU Ni's DBZ dub.
I'm just wondering what the DB fans here think? Do you think it's good, bad, in-between? Do you have any voices in particular you thought were really good or really bad?
I will always love Stephanie Nadolny's Kid Goku. Dragon Ball had a much better dub than DBZ and that's really clear with her Goku compared to her Gohan.
The old Funi dubs, while they have their moments, are terrible for the most part, and haven't aged all that well.
The Kai dub, however, is excellent, and one of the few things that make DB Kai worth it. I generally find it hard to go back to vanilla DBZ and its outdated dub nowadays. Outside the Faulconer music of course.

I'm rather fond of the origin of its name. The designers were overseen by one Mr. Hiruda, who was displeased with their original designs for the villain. When they showed him the new design, his jaw dropped, the onomatopeia for which in Japan is "-garn". So, the villain is called Hirudegarn.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
