It's from Geekdom, so it's also a credible rumour. Freeza's plot of overthrowing the gods has so far only been present in the anime version of Super, so I won't be surprised if it's not mentioned by Toeiyama's script
The movie's advanced screening happens tonight so we'll start getting confirmations soon.

I don't think so. It seems he generally wants people to act morally, and if they don't he punishes the world en masse for it. But he judges the world solely through what he sees immediately. That's why he didn't bother doing anything about Zamasu and Zamasu when they killed all the Gods and started ravaging Universe 7, but immediately exterminated him when he was brought face to face with his actions ("What's this? It's all messed up... Is it his fault? How annoying."). He'd probably think the same thing about Buu if Kaioshin died 5 million years ago (meaning Beerus dies and U-7 ends up barren by the time of the present series).
Case in point, the Tournament of Power. He wanted the winners to act selflessly, and he was basically going to judge existence by the decision of one man. He doesn't care about what he can't see, and he doesn't really bother to look.
Come to think of it, he was also unaware of how shitty a job Beerus and Champa were doing as Destroyers until Whis and Vados told him about it. He was aware to an extent of the two of them being up to multiversal shenanigans, though.
Granted, he didn't do anything about it then, besides issue a (joking) warning.

At this point, should we classify Dragon Ball Z as a Cosmic Horror Show due to how the deities in this universe act?

The Dragonball universe is a universe that should just collapse on itself from pure stupidity.

Huh so it’s not unrealistic.
To think everyone could have been obliterated because of Zeno’s attempt at gambling.
Cause that is literally the only way that entire plan makes sense, just one big gamble the likes of which the multiverse have never seen.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I have a theory that the only reason Champa's universe is rated higher than Beerus' is because Saiyans in U6 are, as a species, good instead of evil. They barely exist in U7, and they were genocidal barbarians when they did exist, but they're basically a whole species of mercenaries for justice in U6.
Universe 6 is a lot more organized than Universe 7, with an actually competent interplanetary force/government that protects its citizens and fosters prosperity. They may have been completely blindsided by Anime! Frost being an asshat, but the reason they were blindsided is because everything looked hunky dory, and things are even better in the manga where Frost is just a cheater. And while the strongest non-Saiyan mortal in the universe isn't necessarily good, he is very rigidly neutral with the occasional kind streak (in Universe 7, that spot was is held by Freeza before the protagonists came along). They're not anywhere near as together as Universe 11, of course, but things look a whole lot better off than in 7's playground.
Compare Universe 7, where the closest thing to a practical unifying force in the galaxy is an shattered empire that routinely massacred entire planets, and a toothless and incapable government that doesn't seem to do anything, plus a peacekeeping force whose only elite member we meet is an incompetent joke who constantly screws up his job.
The most powerful and influential people in the galaxy are on a backwater planet that no other mortals in the universe pay attention to, and Beerus - being the wise and intelligent god he was - nearly blew it all up because they didn't feed him pudding fast enough. Champa's also an asshole, but he at least doesn't seem to have gone on petty rampages and condoned clearly horrible conditions for his own comfort the way Beerus did.

Pretty much everyone is a worse person in the anime (cf. Beerus), so it's doubtful that Toriyama intended him to be that evil.
I wonder if they'll ever release his outlines in their entirety to see how detailed they are. They did it with the "F" script. I'm really curious about that. Because from what little we get, we can see Toriyama is really particular in some ways (the exact same "Goku never kissed his wife" joke is in both the manga and anime, and most of the pages he personally wrote/drew in the manga are gag pages) and ridiculously vague in others (Jiren being an entirely different character between versions, and being given Toppo's personality in the anime before Toriyama sent another memo saying he was a stoic anime tough guy, indicate that he must have had basically no characteristics in the outline aside from "buff superhero mortal stronger than the gods").

I still think this rumor is beyond farfetched. After all, Frieza actually has a new goal as stated in the Tournament of Power: usurp the gods' throne.
Which actually makes me believe that Frieza led Broly to Earth to actually test-drive him there to see if he could smash Beerus.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...
