Heroes and its brethren are huge in Japan and it's basically expected that the target audience are playing it, which is why I don't really make a distinction between the two. Because the IP holders don't either. That's why Super has a new anime-only transformation every other episode, even where it literally makes no sense for there to be a transformation (e.g. 10-foot tall red and purple Toppo, instead of just Toppo with god ki).
Interestingly enough the Heroes anime and manga also do try to slot themselves in Super's timeline, so there's that.

Toriyama kept Dragon Ball going on a regular serialized basis, and changed things his editors wanted, to make money. The story after Pilaf could have just ended. After Red Ribbon, Majunior, Freeza or Cell or Buu.
He didnt have to bring it back, he decided to in order to make more money.
Like, he didnt have to get involved directly, the IP holders probably would have done what they wanted anyway.
But even then, there's limits to how much artistic integrity and intent you wanna assign there. Fundamentally, it's a mercenary enterprise.
Like, the manga did change to throw Kale and Kefla in there. That speaks volumes.
...I mean, I like them, so what I want it to say on a fannish level is that Toriyama and Toyble liked them too, but like. No, realistically what it says is that someone's pursestrings were involved.
Another idea I had for a while, though it may be far-fetched. What if Dimps were to make some sort of Battle Royale-mode with up to 80 fighters? Like, most of DB at the moment is doing these big-ass battle royale-type stories (DBS's Tournament of Power, Fusions' Timespace Tournament, Heroes' Prison Planet arc and whatever Legends is going through atm), so it'd make sense to go in this direction. Plus, the battle royale concept has always been a shooter thing, so it'd be interesting for a fighting game to do it.
I remember Chronoa saying she wanted to do a big timespace tournament, so XV3 would be the best time to do it.

I mean, I want an overhaul.
A lot of Xenoverse 2 reused a lot from 1.
And, mind, I liked 1 a lot. A lot of the changes in the time patrol quests were amazing and hilarious and I loved them.
But they reused a lot of it and. That's a little boring.
...Also, I want Jaco and OG Dragon Ball. There's a lot of shit to change before Raditz.
Toppo was 10 feet tall in his normal form, too. Just compare him to Goku and Vegeta in their fights. God Toppo made him buffer, but it didn't increase his height any.
I just realized that Kale was added to the Tournament of Power because of the Toei. What the hell was going to be the plot of the manga's Tournament of Power without Kale?! She eliminated damn near everyone!
Back on-off-topic, I hope the final boss of Xenoverse 3 (or a bonus boss) is Baby Vegetto Black. I even have a whole scenario written out in my head for the big final battle.
Goku Black decides to go even more rogue and turn Time Breaker. He teams up with Baby Vegeta from another timeline and they use Baby to take over all the powerful fighters from across the multiverse. Eventually, the Time Patrol corners them and they fuse into Baby Vegetto Black.
Baby Vegetto Black starts out using Godly Ki, and he's dead even with SSB Goku. He goes into SSR and beats SSB KKx20 Goku and SSB3 Vegeta at the same time. Beerus shows up to help and he beats that ass like a drum until Baby Vegetto Black goes SSR2 and turns the tables. Time Patrol Trunks steps up and creates the Sword of Hope while someone goes to get help. Trunks is slightly losing against Baby Vegetto Black when that help arrives in the form of Jiren. Jiren starts kicking Baby Vegetto Black's ass until Baby Vegetto Black goes SSR3 and he starts winning again.
SSR3 Baby Vegetto Black is beating Jiren until Goku goes Ultra Instinct and steps in to help. Jiren goes Super and helps UI Goku kick Baby Vegetto Black's ass. Baby Vegetto Black throws a Power Ball and goes SSR Oozaru. SSR Oozaru Baby Vegetto Black fights Super Jiren and UI Goku. Baby Vegetto Black has a slight strength advantage, but Goku and Jiren are fighting as a team and they manage to push him back and overpower him in a beam struggle.
Baby Vegetto Black manages to transform into SSR4, destroying Goku and Jiren's beams. SSR4 Baby Vegetto Black wrecks Goku and Jiren, and Whis decides that he needs to step in now. Whis is actually at a slight disadvantage, and your CAC fights alongside Whis. Both of you working together at full power manage to defeat Baby Vegetto Black.
The secret ending is before he dies, Baby Vegetto Black tears a hole between dimensions and asks for help from all of his Baby-infected minions from across the multiverse. They give him all of their energy, and Baby Vegetto Black gets up in FPSSR4. Baby Vegetto Black takes out an exhausted Whis and you're left all alone to fight him. Your CAC beats Baby Vegetto Black, and you save everything ever.
This is the dumbest and most excessive fanservice-y climax I can think of for a Xenoverse game, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
How much more Maximumer can Broly get? Next time you tell me he can go Super Saiyan God without doing the ritual. Or hell, go blue instantly.
I mean, he kinda did
Uni catPretty sure Broly God is his version of SSGSS, much like Rose is to Goku Black. Also, recent datamining revealed that DBS Broly and DBS Gogeta are gonna be the 2 characters in DLC Pack 8 for Xenoverse 2.

If anyone is Super Saiyan Devil, it's Xeno King Vegeta. That black hair with the red highlight and the black/red eyes really sell it.

I dont see how what anyone looks like has to do with who is or isnt the god or devil. Like, I dont see how Super Saiyan God looks most like a stereotypical God.
Kale, in her Legendary Super Saiyan Berserker whatever, is explicitly described as "Daemonic" in the Super manga, and sorta almost not quite on par with Super Saiyan God.
And Broly's eyes go all red in that shot in the trailer where he emerges from a crater.
Near as I can tell, for Super Saiyans, the Devil is green.

If you really want the most broken character in the franchise, this is what you do Step 1: Use the Super Dragonballs so that the following steps don't accidentally destroy the reality around it and that Zen'o doesn't get bored(let's just assume they're just powerful enough to do that) Step 2: Put the Potara Earrings on Present and Future Zen'o. As they're the same person/deities, it sticks Step 3: Have Fusion Zen'o train for four months under the Grand Priest and all the other angels, and King Kai. And by four months, I mean they go into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with no limit to it. Four months outside, about 122 years inside Step 4: Have Fusion Zen'o master Kaioken x 20 and Master Ultra Instinct Step 5: The Living Tribunal is crying in a corner and Beerus shits himself
Arent there a few points in the tournament where Zen'O can't actually follow what's going on? Other people can spectate and track the combatants and movements but to Zen'O it just seems like a sparkly light show.
I think that happened with the Gods of Destruction exhibition in the manga. Grand Priest could keep track of everyone, but Zen'O was starting to get lost by it all.
I'm not sure Zen'O's thing is a power level thing per se.
Edited by unnoun on Oct 19th 2018 at 10:02:06 AM
If Zen'O had a high power level or if anything he can do is at all translatable into ki or martial arts, I think there's a plothole, namely why Goku's never wanted to fight him.
I feel like "fighting" Zen'O would be like fighting an immortal, invulnerable child with a power level of 2 that can erase you with a twitch.
If you hit him without being erased first, you'd probably hurt him, and just make him cry. Even Yamcha. Even Satan.
Even Farmer with Shotgun.
But nobody except Zen'O can actually. Damage him permanently. So when the pain makes him last out, instant erase.

I'm not like you and Saiga; I dont hate the anime and Toei with my entire being. Just most of my being.
It's not like the manga is or ever was any more artistically motivated. From Bulma's Car to Buu, it existed to make money and for no other reason.
Specifying that the anime exists to license toys or merchandise is laughable; what do you think the manga is for then?
