Character, but...otherwise nothing.
Maybe I just don't get it.
I do get this though, so there's that.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Usually a character's backstory defines them...just enough so that it actually matters when you learn about it.
I'd saying learning where Karrot comes from matters more than just learning the circumstances of him being sent to Earth.
Earth = E
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. You know what really confuses me about Minus' existence though? Toriyama straight up said that he loved Father of Goku to the point of making a scene from it canon to the manga.
Then he wrote something completely different to retcon it.
Like regardless of which one is better, that is a weird chain of events.
This song needs more love.
I mean the whole thing was good and just generally better than Minus. I liked subversions like Goku living through sheer chance, Dodoria of all characters being one of the strongest characters shown, and Bardock not caring about his children at all.
Personally, while I'm not happy they're going with Jor-El Bardock, there is the chance that this movie will tell the story better so I'm withholding complete judgement until then.

This song needs more love.Toriyama said that he loved Father of Goku in an interview talking about Minus. He clearly wasn't writing Minus with intent to "destroy" Father of Goku in any way. Given how it was advertised, as the introduction of Gine, Minus was pretty clearly meant to just be supplemental material alongside Father of Goku, with the events of Father of Goku still mostly being canon.
Yeah, but he changed a lot.
Toriyama just does his own thing. That's how he's always been.
He wanted to do a Bardock story his way rather than the way Toei did it, so he did.
I'll admit: my issue is mostly the Gine thing. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the first important pure blooded female saiyan being weak and a housewife is not a good way to start showing female Saiyans.
For a guy who doesn't care for supposedly soft women, he sure did exactly that.
One Strip! One Strip!![]()
What's the point in retelling a story if it's gonna be mostly the same...?
x4
It's not much of an issue now that we've gotten more female Saiyans and their both fighters.
Plus it made sense to me that some saying would work at a meat factory or whatever, considering how much Saiyans eat.
That all said, i hope Selypa is still around.

Bardock is a beloved character, some say he even dwarfs Broly in popularity. And their fans like how he was portrayed.
That enough is a huge point against Minus and this movie. Remember that, besides being stupid, Episode of Bardock is almost universally reviled for how the character of Bardock was bothched.
