I do hope Bardock and Freeza have a. Not fight, but confrontation. Like in the original Bardock special.
Freeza specifically remembers and has a flashback to Bardock when he sees Goku the first time in the manga.
Bardock's design in the Bardock special matches his design in the manga more than his redesign in this Broly movie.
"He looks just like the Saiyan who resisted until the end... when I destroyed Planet Vegeta!" Freeza says.
Instead of the shoulder pads like Raditz, Bardock in his one-panel manga appearance has the shoulder straps like the Saiyan Battle Armor in the Cell Saga.
The battle damage to the armor makes it so we can see Bardock's left nipple.
And he's wearing a headband.
In the Dragon Ball Full Color release the headband and Bardock's armor are basically colored like the special, and Planet Vegeta in the background is the same red color.
Of course, in Dragon Ball Minus.
Like, the thing people dont understand about the Dragon Ball Minus special is that it sorta ends on a cliffhanger?
Freeza says it will take him one month to get to Planet Vegeta from where he is. Around the time Bardock and Gine send Kakarot off.
The timeline is different from the Bardock special, because in that the events of the movie and Kakarot being sent off are concurrent.
But aside from that detail of "how does Kakarot get from Point A to Point B". The actual events of Planet Vegeta's destruction are kinda vague?
"Neither Freeza nor Goku knew that the Saiyan Freeza killed that day was Burdock... Goku' s father." we get told in a caption.
Which is a weird statement, Freeza killed a lot of Saiyans that day, but I guess Bardock was the only one face-to-face.

Wouldn't he look like this...?
Is that not how he looks in the trailer?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Holy shit, Rando's right, they completely changed how Freeza looks in his first form with no armor.
What the fuck is with this movie.
Not the height thing, but the fact that it looks like Vegeta is a baby when Goku is also a baby.

My various fanfics.I mean, the design changes are weird and inconsistent, but I still think they look good? Is that just me?
Every frame of this movie looks beautiful, to me at least.
Maybe that's just because of Super lowering my expectations tho.
Vegeta and Goku arent shown side-by-side in their incubation pods, so I am making no assumptions on the timeline.
All we really know is that we see two scenes of Saiyan gestation incubators, one with Vegeta and one with Goku.
Trailers arent meant to show scenes in a linear, chronological order per se, just one that sets an expectation for tone and interest.

I mean it looks pretty, but I'm always annoyed by inconsistency.
Although I do like the new design for King Vegeta, so I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrite.
My various fanfics.So...the white part is just not actually apart of his body, apparently.
He looks the same otherwise.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I feel like there's going to be a lot of flashbacks, and maybe flashbacks within flashbacks.
If I'm right, there will be flashbacks to the day Vegeta got destroyed, and then on that day Vegeta Sr. and Bardock will have flashbacks about their sons.
Except Tarble and Raditz, who dont seem to be in the movie.

I dont think we see King Vegeta in the manga. Just Bardock.
...And Xenoverse has a thing in the Freeza race equipment where some of the things that look like their body are actually "bio-armor" that they "wear" so.
Except there's still an inconsistency where Freeza, in the manga, in the flashback panel where he destroys Bardock and Vegeta, still basically looks like his first form.
And is wearing a battle armor chestpiece. Not topless.

Bardock's special, if you remove the part where Kakarot is present and sent to earth, can still work in canon if you want to. That's what i hope at least.
But you do see Frieza chucking the death ball towards Vegeta, without no Bardock in sight so i'm a bit bummered by that.
Raditz appears on Minus. He should appear here too
This is... looking a little less promising than before. I'm not normally a stickler for continuity, especially in Dragonball, but this is feeling like it's changing too much.
On the plus side Gine finally getting an English voice is something good that might come out of this. I was spiteful of Gine when I first heard about her, but over time I grew to like her more, because at least her withdrawing from battle adds something to the story instead of taking something away. I was hoping if they made her part of the anime that they'd return Bardock back to his more aggressive self, not seeing that here. Did no-one tell Toriyama that minus wasn't well received? Or was it actually popular in Japan?
Damn It!
Fucking Hell Minus is in! Fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK!
That’s it no more, Goku you are officially a borderline rip-off of Superman & your parents are Jor & Lara-lite.
Well that makes since considering Superman is a far superior character than you can ever be now.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Over-The-Top
You are the OTT, cool.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. You can tell who was a teenager fan by their reactions to Minus.
Anyway, technically first form Freeza without armor and underwear looks like this
◊ (and now you know from where Cell got his crotch), but his species can grow biological armor that is removable. Hell, IIRC final form Freeza is supposed to be wearing a biosuit anyway.
So Freeza may be in his first form without his Namek-era bioarmor.
Also, nice to see King Cold. And no signs of Cooler (AKA the other Movie guy who gets attention).

Freeza 2.0, but also Vegeta 3.0 and. King Piccolo 4.0.
...Majunior is really just King Piccolo 1.5.
