You say that as if that means anything here.
You'd think that all the high level fighters would eat a ton for all the calories they burn
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI seem to remember that, after the first Budokai, Goku and Krillin both ate a lot because they burned a lot of calories during.
The two of them ate up all of Roshi's prize money.
The difference with Goku is that he has a bunch of scenes like the Buu World Tournament where he preloads a lot of food before he does anything.
The first time we see him he's catching a fish bigger than he is, seemingly to eat it all at once. Because he doesnt have a refrigerator in his hut. And fish goes bad fast.
...Also, there's a gag of Yajirobe eating bunch of Senzu beans and getting fat right away, and I think Goku mentions being able to eat them and still be hungry afterwards even though they're supposed to keep you full for a week.
Yajirobe was a martial artist and fairly active, and he likes Senzu beans and living with Korin because they keep him full even though he's normally a Big Eater himself.
So the sense I get is that Saiyan metabolism is just freakish.
EDIT: Anyway, the first time we see Vegeta and Nappa they're eating bug people. And Earth insects have a lot of protein and calories.
It's admittedly weird, given Namek lasts six days at least without anyone seemingly getting hungry, and it taking about a month for everyone to get there.
But then again, Goku brings Senzu beans. And I think Vegeta eats those Namekians he killed?

Was there anything else for Vegeta to eat on Namek? I feel like he was probably definitely eating people again if only because of occam's razor
Forever liveblogging the Avengers@unnoun In the manga, at least, it was specifically only Goku who was eating a ton after the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai. Not sure about the anime, but it was one of the most notable instances of Goku being a Big Eater, in that he blew through Roshi's prize money almost on his own.
Do saiyans have immense appetites? I assumed Goku's appetite was due to him being a Shonen protagonist.
I think Goku invented that shonen protagonist trope.
And there it is, the grand finale. A very fitting send off for... Goddamn it Kaiser.
I need Takahata to voice a Disney villain.
You are not alone.I'm gonna agree that it's just something about the Trio that's atypical from other fighters.
One Strip! One Strip!Not really.
I don't think the heroes being unable to sense their ki meant much in a one on one fight.
I don't believe it was a thing with the manga version, though I might be forgetting since the manga version of U9 was even more fodderish than the anime version.
Plus, Toriyama played that card before and made it clear that, like many things, having more ki trumps everything.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah I think that detail has been played out. We've had the Androids, possibly Babidi's men, Gods previously.
It seems like it was there to justify the blind Gohan fight. It's still funny that Gohan did better there than against Kuririn, who put him in a similar but less severe situation. That's such poor consistency. Speaking off, the Solar Flare x100 is another example of the non-ki sensing being played out.

Half human appetite, half Saiyan
