I disagree with the idea that the anime as a whole tried hard to do anything other than making Toei money. Some of the animators, especially towards the end, certainly did but that's about it.
That being said, I agree that Toyotaro seems to have just stopped caring with the ToP but I can't really blame him. He was in a disadvantageous position form the start. Whoever thought it was a good idea to have a monthly manga compete with a weekly anime when both are covering basically the exact same plot needs to be fired.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yea, it's really not a fair comparison, the manga can only cover so much in one month at a time while the Anime is free to do what it wants. One is clearly more disadvantaged than the other.
And really, I dont think the Anime is any more special or worse than the manga.
The Anime wastes time building up things that dont have as much payoff as they think they do, and is pretty liberal with it's own internal consistency while the Manga just rushes through material without giving it proper weight.
Both of them are flawed and I think people their biases cloud them of this fact.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Toyotaro had his own advantages (like not covering the movies).
Basically, I see both as object lessons of how not to do a sequel to something popular. Toei were only interested in making money, so they focused on crowdpleasing and flashyness. Toyotaro came at it from a fan perspective, but that meant that he was limiting himself by what came before in a way. So, for example, Toei didn't bother explaining things or keeping things consistent at all, while Toyotaro explained things too much and didn't focus on making things entertaining. (sometimes it feels like his exposition is written for the wiki, not the audience).
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Super Dragon Ball Heroes Universe Mission 4 Opening:
- First half is part of the Demigra Revival Arc
- Super Saiyan 3 Xeno Gohanks vs Xeno Omega Shenron
- Elder Kai and Toki-Toki look at the fight
- Second half is the Prison Planet Arc:
- Cumber tries attacking Ozotto but he deflects it
- Goku then attacks Cumber, but Cumber then transforms into Super Oozaru
- Blue Kaioken Goku fights Super Oozaru Cumber as he breaks the force field
- Fu gets angry and goes Demon Super Saiyan like his dad, ready to fight
Honestly fights like Goku Vs Caulifla and the Androids Vs Universe 2 are worth all the filler.
You are not alone.Masako goes over his top 10 DBZ movies!
Not too shabby of a list, honestly. I agree with most of it, but I've never seen World's Strongest or Dead Zone and I didn't realize that they were that good?
Battle of Gods should have been number one for sure, though. But, I totally can't disagree with his top three in general, they're exactly what I would have picked (albeit in reverse order).
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeTFS tends to rate World's Strongest very high, and while I see the appeal, I disagree. I'm not a fan of the dark color palate, gross main villain mech design, and generic evil scientist main villain motivation. Kochin's motivation is fine and unique, but Wheelo's motivation is just generic "they laughed at me, so now I'll kill them with a doomsday laser". Also, they brainwashed Piccolo and didn't really do much with him.
Not too shabby a list...I appreciate that he made a list.

There was a pamphlet that was released with movie 3 which gave him a power level of 39,000, making him about as strong as the mid-tier Ginyu Force members. This fits him overpowering KK x3 Goku (24,000), shrugging off a Kamehameha from KK x4 Goku (32,000), and then being noted as having gotten stronger immediately after that.note

As Square Enix keeps him busy with Dragon Quest, I think it'll be hard for Toriyama to get Blue Dragon rolling again. Also, it wasn't much of a hit, was it? What with it being exclusive to the one console the Japanese hate.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...For Xenoverse 2 players, Extra DLC Pack 3 is arriving on August 28th. In addition to Super Saiyan Kafla and Super Baby 2, there are some free netcode patches, free cosmetics, and the ability to have your other OCs as teammates on missions.
It's curious that Zamasu claims mortals are Always Chaotic Evil, yet Zamasu himself is Always Chaotic Evil. As in every version of Zamasu is The Sociopath with the same views on mortals. Probably. Though who knows, maybe the Zamasu in Cell's timeline ended up becoming a reasonable person
Well, in that timeline there's no Trunks to stop him right?
I guess that depends on whether there's a Goku Black to push him over the edge (which there might not be now that Beerus has killed the Zamasu of their timeline before he could pull the switch).
One Strip! One Strip!Well, for one, Zamasu is not Chaotic Evil. He's Lawful Evil.
From a certain point of a view, I suppose. He's a Kaioushin (in training), yes, but he's the Kaioushin of a different universe.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'm pretty sure the people of Trunks World probably saw him as Chaotic evil, what with the murder and slasher smiling he did along with his buddy.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, but Zamasu's whole thing is that he thinks that mortals are evil because they can kill each other with no consequences, and that the other gods are incompetent because they don't suppress the mortals enough. He still qualifies as Lawful Evil, even if the only law he believes in is his own because he actually really believes in his own rules and he believes that everyone else should too.
Incidentally, while on the topic of alignment, all the Gods of Destruction and Kaioshin are Lawful Neutral, with varying levels of commitment and competence. Hit is True Neutral. Toppo started Lawful Good but transitioned to Lawful Neutral when he threw justice away to become a God. Jiren started Lawful Neutral, fell into Lawful Evil for roughly 30 seconds when he had his mental breakdown, then slingshotted up to Lawful Good when Goku broke through his mental barrier. Freeza is Lawful Evil, though less lawful than Zamasu is, Cell is Neutral Evil, Fat Buu is Chaotic Neutral, and Kid Buu is Chaotic Evil.
In movie news, there is a short teaser for Broly after the One Piece Skypiea recap special.
It only has like 3 seconds of new footage though, which is just SSB Goku fighting black-haired LSS Broly in what is...acceptable CGI.

I have to agree with Pushover. The anime was obviously not very smart at times and there are a lot of things one could take issues with, it at least tried hard to be something good, which is more than can be said for the manga.
