Well, that's another reason I think the comparison is apt, considering how they both have a fair share of controversy among their respective fandoms over their actual quality.
It's just something I was thinking off because I know a lot of people were like "Have Katara, Zuko, and Toph wreck the villains themselves!" or something like than and I was always "Well, no, it's good to see them, but this isn't their story anymore."

It also brought us some of the best villains ever, Amon & Zaheer were real highlights of their respective seasons.
Also watching Kung Fun Panda 2, specifically the battle between Lord Shen & the 3 masters makes me think DB should step up its fight choreography.
I don’t know maybe add some actual martial arts to the fights or something, give it some spice.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Trying to convince people that good is good, eh?
Nice attempt.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Korra? I believe that's the avatar, yes?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I would like to see higher level choreography, just look at how cool ultra instinct looked. It is still a martial arts series deep down, so more varied styles beyond high speed mid-air kickboxing would be cool. Give Vegeta some more military inspired movements and Goku more Mixed martial arts, maybe have Hits style evolve into a mix of obscure fighting styles to make him feel really alien.
Heck show the difference in skill with how each character throws a punch if you can.
They could pretty much only do that by completely resetting the power scale and starting over with an entirely new cast. Which they'll never do.
You'd also probably almost certainly need a company other than Toei doing it and that'll never happen. Or at least have Toei start giving a damn about making Dragon Ball be a quality work. Which will never happen.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!If only different fighting styles were a thing...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah. I think the power scale is at a point where variance in fighting styles isn't really going to happen.
One Strip! One Strip! It feels like one of those things like tails and filled in hair where Toriyama just got tired of drawing it.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSorry to bring it back to this, but I just thought of something. I think the reason manga Kale rubbed me such the wrong way was because anime Kale actually had a character arc about getting over her self-hatred, while manga Kale was just... Broly. Anime Kale might have had more direct Broly references, but her issues stemmed from a completely different place and she grew past that over the course of the tournament, while manga Kale just went on a rampage. Anime Kale has a personality, she has ups and downs, she has wants and needs, and she has her own opinions. Manga Kale is just a mindless berserker, like Broly was.
Because it's still disgusting.

Thinking about how heavily Super leans on nostalgia, I've been comparing it to another series that the nostalgia is also a big part of, but I think handles it better: The Legend of Korra.
Admittedly they're different in that Korra is a full-on sequel series, while Super largely has the same cast, but the callbacks to older characters and moments generally feel more natural and earned in Korra than in Super, to me, which is surprising because again, Super is still mostly using those old characters.
While the Korra expands on the world, it mostly does so by already existing concepts, not creating entirely new ones or throwing out how bending used to work in the old series to be more "cool".
I think Korra understood how to give spotlight to older character while maintaining that this wasn't the "good old days".
So while Legend of Korra was far from perfect, there are at least a few aspects where I think Super being more like it would be a good thing.
