Welp.
I don't get why everone is freaking out over 'canon' Broly, the term is meaningless.
And Dragon Ball bringing back Freeza was still a worse idea than this.
I've always thought the character concept of Broly could have been interesting if handled much differently. Since that is the perspective Toriyama is going for, this has potential.
Imagibe getting a version of Broly that doesn't suck as bad as his previous incarnations!
Now, due to the baggage attached to the character and the Wolverine Publicity Broly had, I would have preferres to stay away from his character. But Super has already comfortably nestled itself in the trash pile, so this doesn't phase me.
It's been said they're rewriting him, so don't panic immediately and burn everything do- never mind I guess
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!We don't have an official canon? Literally everything that Toriyama has been heavily involved. So the original manga/anime, the retellings of Bo G and Ro F, the rest of the Super anime, Dragon Ball Minus, Jaco the Galactic Patrolman and this movie. See how it means something? Cool, it doesn't mean something for you, meanwhile a bunch of people in the world are raging/celebrating since Broly is canon now.

You'll find that Saiga hates Super, so canon means nothing to him anymore :V
I like it because I love seeing people get salty over Broly getting more attention; they can't even use the "NON-CANON' argument anymore and it's entertaining as hell to see people flip out over it.
This can't be any worse than bringing back Freeza, and despite how anyone feels about that move, it actually ended up being fairly entertaining in the end. So I won't completely write off Toriyama's version of Broly as it might actually redeem the character.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Um, no, naming a bunch of things doesn't show me anything
We don't even know the extent of Toriyama's involvement these days, but we do know it's no longer him alone. We know that Shuiesha now has an office in charge of inserting marketable ideas into the products.
If you view the current material as canpn, the term becomes meanibgless, because it's being run by the same people who were making the non-canon stuff. So of course it is going to end up the same way.

This isn't about Super. This is about unofficial canon not making sense.
Please don't write off my opinions as 'you just hate x', that's rude and ignores the points that I am explaining right now.
Canon has been reduced to a buzzword.

That was not my intention, but...you know, you have made it known that you really don't care for the latest direction the franchise has been taking. Not taking your point away, but that's something I've noticed.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Back in the manga days canon was "wherever toriyama's head is today" because he had no problem shamelessly retconning things
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah. Toriyama has no problem, changing things to suit how he wants the story to go, or removing stuff he's uninterested in.
Canon is a pretty loose term in DB. Look at the existence of Jaco (so Bulma knew about the existence of aliens years before Goku's origin ever became a thing ) or Supreme Kai's backstory (now there's only one Supreme Kai and his attendant, so what about the other guys Buu killed, and the two he absorbed).
Still this is a very interesting turn of events. As the guy who often said he wished Toriyama would try his hand at some of Toei's ideas instead of ignoring them, I'm either going to be standing in triumph, or permanently living with my own foot in my mouth.
If you want to see Handsome Rob look stupid, then stay tuned.

toriyama is truly woke
