It works for me at least & plus the appeal of the manga is kickass martial arts fights so no problem there.
One of the battles involves a blind mercenary from the Congo vs an insane serial killer judo master. Its a pretty fun romp all things considered.
Plus there are actual twists here & there. Like the the MC's rival & the series Worlds Greatest Warrior, both of whom got a lot of hype & build-up, ended up losing to a completely unrelated badass bearded assassin in a genuinely unexpected darkhorse victory.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I guess these are just the things that are possible when not everything revolves a single character and the plot might as well be waiting for him to show up

Forever liveblogging the AvengersOne idea that I've been stuck on since those fake spoilers came out is Gohan vs Hit, and how cool of a fight that would've been. Based on their respective performances against Dyspo, it probably would've been pretty close, and since Hit's powers revolve a lot around breaking physics, Gohan might've been able to devise some cool counter-measures against them.
Hell, thow Dyspo in and make it a three-way fight!
Another random thought in the same vein as my Goku uses God Ki to create a Spirit Bomb idea:
How come Gohan never learned the Spirit Bomb? With his supposed smarts, I bet he could have found a whole bunch of new uses for it.
The entire concept has no been explored as much as it should due to Toriyama abandoning it in favour of Super Saiyan. I feel like there was still more that could have been done with it.
One Strip! One Strip!Probably same reason none of the other visitors to King Kai's learned any sweet moves
Main characters only
Really though, since it's a move that doesn't seem reliant on the user's base power and more on how many people and deer you can convince to crowdfund your enemy's death, it would be a good move to spread around

Forever liveblogging the AvengersTo be fair, only because Toriyama insists on having it fail.
I'm sure there was a way to increase it's effectiveness even a little bit (speed up how long it takes to gather the energy).
Also, it did massive damage to Vegeta and flat out killed Buu. It's just that, like many things, Toriyama only uses it so it can fail. It's full potential isn't really explored.

One Strip! One Strip! Not going to lie. An Idea that has been popping into my head lately is improving upon the kaioken and changing it from a multiplicative modifier to an exponential modifier. I think it would have been perfect for Krillen, like make it something that after getting his grove back, Krillen and Master Roshi worked together on this.
As someone who both doesn't remember much math and also considers it to be his mortal enemy, y'all are gonna have to explain how this would make a difference.
One Strip! One Strip! No point. Unless it's human exclusive, Goku can learn it, then be better at it. Common misconception is that the humans are more skilled, but they aren't. Goku learnt the Kamehameha by seeing it once, fight opponents that are his physical superior with skill, took the Kaioken to levels beyond its own creator and then mastered a skill even the most skilled warriors that have been training for millions of years couldn't perfect.

Please, I am a fan of Battle Angel Alita. We got a tournament that lasted for longer than the original manga.
