Now I'm picturing a fight where a stray ki blast accidentally restarts the heart of a villain who was already dead.

This song needs more love.Hit is based on the Evolution version of Piccolo?
Really?
I've refused to watch the movie so I wouldn't know.
One Strip! One Strip!Oh right! I do remember it being said Marsters was gonna be involved. I totally derped on him being Zamasu, but I totally hear it now!
I'm gonna need ten or twenty Baths for this, but Good work Evolution. Something good came out of your suckitude.
One Strip! One Strip!Evolution's thing was less "use Ki blast as defibrillator" and more "fire Kamehameha into chest that magically brings them back to life".
As for Evolution Piccolo and Hit, their one similarity is the vertical crack down the middle of the head, and while it's not something that was part of Piccolo's original design, it's also not particularly uncommon in science fiction.
The thing about Evolution is that it's not even an adaptation of the Dragon Ball manga, it's a remake of Dragon Ball The Magic Begins, that other shitty Dragon Ball live-action movie. Their plots are almost identical, with the most glaring bit being Grandpa Gohan dying to the main villain to get his Dragon Ball which prompts Goku to start his adventure looking for revenge and justice.
The only good thing about The Magic Begins is that not-Pilaf tries to keep the Dragon Balls away from everyone else by swallowing them, and they kill not-Pilaf by making him swallow the last one and summon Shenron to explode him from the inside out.
That sounds like the same trick from Curse of the Blood Rubies.
Edit: You know, this got me thinking about something.
What do you guys think the series would have been like if Pilaf had been less of a joke Starter Villain and maybe was the head of the Red Ribbon army himself?
As in if he had some actual resources? The first arc might have been spiced up a bit.
Also, I wish there were more situations where people who weren't Obviously Evil were competing for the Dragonballs with Goku and company at the same time. Maybe someone else with an equally good wish...though considering how selfish most of the gang were in the beginning, this might not have worked.

One Strip! One Strip!Goku didn't even heal Frieza, just lend him enough ki for him to move.
I mean, I guess there's Dende getting his hidden power unlocked by Guru, but that maybe some kind of weird thing with Namekians rather than an extension of Ki.
I was referring to Dende, since he has that ability before becoming a God and says it's something healers can do. It's rare, but definitely possible.
And I prefer healing being a rare ability than a God-ki trait given to the Gods of Destruction and Goku/Vegeta.
Going to disagree on that being a less stupid alternative.
Attendants losing the ability to heal when they becone Kaioshin is weird, but I didn't think it was stupid. I'd just not have that be part of Kaioshin's history.
Dende mentions that 'some Namekians are fighters, some are healers' so it's not unique to him.

Two thoughts:
After years of looking at clips and pictures of it, I finally noticed something about Goku and Jackie Chun's final clash.
Actually looking at the moment where they hit each other, you barely see Goku's foot touching Roshi.
Here's a clip from the anime (it happens at 2 minutes in)
, and here's the moment from the manga
◊.
I'm annoyed with myself because Roshi even says that he gambled on Goku not getting in as much with the kick as he did due to shorter legs, but somehow mis-remembered it as Roshi also getting a kick to the face (which he did, but it's not as prominent as Goku being kicked by Roshi, if at all).
So I've proven that I fail as a Dragonball fan... I blame Saiga.
Secondly...why didn't Ox King know the Kamehameha? I mean, Grandpa Gohan knew it, and every other student of the Turtle School knew it. It's odd that he's the odd man out in that party.
One Strip! One Strip! He left school early to become a warlord
And/or back then it meant a thing to learn the kamehameha
This younger generation all easily learning it with their internets and Betamaxes
Forever liveblogging the AvengersToriyama's actually genuinely good at making fights that are really expressive and it's clear what's happening while still hiding lots of tiny details.
I can't think of many mangaka who are actually better than him at that.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"I'm actually pleased with this. Xenoverse's characters are simpler and easier to create than Fighterz, so they get to go crazier with who they include. Hopefully, Season 2(?) of DLC includes Dragon Ball and Tournament of Power characters. I always thought Toppo's Hakai aura could make for a really neat Xenoverse mechanic.
