I assumed that god ki is something anyone can sense, but so few mortals ever come into contact with gods that nobody has any practice at it.
The Kami of an individual planet may not be divine themselves, but they do have contact with actual gods, so maybe it's just something they learned after a while.
Yeah but this really doesn't tell us much. We don't know why it has those properties, so we don't really know what makes it different in practice.
The ki sensing detail isn't very meaningful, especially once the ability to learn how to sense it is introduced by Super (BOG just said it can't be sensed). We've already had two different ways that ki has been undetectable before - Babidi's minions and the Androids (including 17 and 18, who should still have their 'human' ki which can't be sensed).
Super has added some more details but they're only vaguely hinted at and contradict each other.
Like in Whis' training Goku and Vegeta learn not to let excess energy spill out of their body, which may seem like set up for 'sealing' their ki inside explaining why it can't be sensed... but several gods, including the Saiyan god forms, have visible auras while they still can't be sensed.
Then we have Vegeta and Goku learning how to sense God ki from training, which makes it seem like it just requires a different technique/quality rather than God ki specifically being undetectable by the nature of how it is obtained or wielded.
Then they have the God forms give off a 'pressure' to non-God characters that is extremely similar to ki sensing anyway, and it is used mostly to set up the same old 'his ki is amazing' comments. That felt really 'have your cake and eat it' of the writing.
And then in the TOP we have Piccolo and Roshi commenting on the ki of God forms anyway (like Blue 2 Vegeta) lol.
The 'trapping energy inside' concept would have worked really well as set up for the manga's complete SSB concept, though.
I didn't realize Babidi's minions ki couldn't be sense. They seemed pretty aware that Spopovitch wasn't quite right...then again, that was kinda obvious.
I agree with that, which is why the anime and the manga needed a more unified narrative, instead of everyone just doing what they want.
Also, where's Dub Super episode 65?

One Strip! One Strip!Saw a funny shirt at a con that had power saiyans because there are enough colors now
Red, blue, black, rosé, yellow, and green-ish
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt was on a t shirt and I think it was broly
Saw some good couple cosplay with a bunny Bulma and I wannaaaa say 21st budokai Yamcha? First time he cut his hair
And a lot of Goku blues. So many. Most of them shirtless so I guess 2/3rds through a fight
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat's actually how they could tell that Spopovich wasn't quite right... they couldn't sense his 'life energy'. While it's possible they mean something else other than ki, this is consistent with them never commenting on the ki of Babidi's other minions (including Yakon, who Goku detected in the dark based off the air flow instead of just ki sensing).
Majin Vegeta's ki could presumably still be sensed though, as Trunks and Goten appear to feel his ki and Piccolo is able to compare him to Gohan. Could just be sensing Goku's ki in the first case and judging Vegeta's actual fight in the latter.
I'd change it so that Godly Ki can be used to heal others, though it has limitations in that it takes more of it to heal stronger people and it can't heal excessive wounds. Cuts, bruises, and maybe a stab hole, sure. Missing limbs, no.
Also, it looks more like fire while normal ki looks more spikey.
Well, just that one time really.
Goku didn't even heal Frieza, just lend him enough ki for him to move.
I mean, I guess there's Dende getting his hidden power unlocked by Guru, but that maybe some kind of weird thing with Namekians rather than an extension of Ki.
One Strip! One Strip!

I gather that the difference is that it can't be sensed unless you have it and it's a thing only godly beings possess (like the Kais, Gods of Destruction, Angels, or Kami). Goku and Vegeta have it because of Super Saiyan God and training with an Angel, respectively. Some differences that I'm planning to add are that it can be used to heal others, and it looks fiery, to contrast normal ki which looks spiky.
