He used to be lazy in the way that when you need to churn out a chapter of manga each week, you look for shortcuts (that is to say, not really lazy).
Now he's lazy in that he's an old man and he doesn't really have an editor looking over his shoulder so much as a bunch of people taking his ideas and making dodgy children's TV out of them.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Nah, it didn't always look good with his gi...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.
x4: @Discussing Toriyama's streamlined modern art: Agreed, it's pretty much his preferred aesthetic nowadays, which isn't necessarily born from laziness. Toriyama can still draw toned muscle, and even tailed Saiyans, as evident with his recent Shallot design
◊ for the Legends mobile game, he just simply chooses not to.
Just for fun, Toriyama
◊ did a correction of Toyotaro's
◊ sketch of Zamasu for a cheeky section for the Manga's behind the scenes.
As a side note, there are two Kansenshuu threads dedicated to recording Toriyama's Dragon Ball art pre
and post-Battle of Gods
.
Speaking of Goku's gi designs (and the 23rd Tournament), this fan-proposed design
It really says something when the franchise's most complexly designed character is still Cell.
Really the simplicity of the clothing can be easily seen in Fighter Z as around half the playable cast wear's a simple gi.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."For VJump's current 25th
Anniversary, Toriyama
◊ and Toyotaro
◊ submitted some Dragon Ball-related art (along with Toriyama's other series, like Dr. Slump). Toyo's submission is noteworthy for the fact that it might be his depiction of Ultra Instinct (the final silver-haired look).
Regarding Heroes, for tomorrow (or today's) Goku Day, there are two new Goku cards
Also, mistranslation, but Xeno: King Vegeta ''didn't'' fight nor defeat Beerus
◊ in the recent Heroes chapter, but he does plan on fighting
◊ him. Meanwhile, he tosses around with Bardock
◊.

I might have mentioned this before, but I wish that Gamma Burst Flash had shown up in the anime. Having Vegeta start using it when he goes Super Saiyan Sparkly Blue would have been a neat way to sell that he's more powerful, since his signature beam attack (Final Flash) has been replaced by the "next level".
Come on! Every day is fucking Goku day as far as the DB universe is concerned.
...then again, everyday is also Rusev Day so what do I know?
One Strip! One Strip!

I admit, I am annoyed that he stuck to this SCREW D'EM TAILS attitude even with the Universe 6 saiyans even though he's not drawing all the characters anymore (Toyotarou is doing half the work).
I'm never not gonna be convinced that there's still so much to mine from tails.
I mean, Super Saiyan 4 is unlikely (he definitely prefers to do his own thing than crib something from someone else), but I feel like there's something in combining the two notable Saiyan Transformations.
