Pretty much.
Goku seems to be the only one he likes writing. And he only likes writing Goku as a fight loving Manchild who only cares about getting stronger...even though that's not what he had Goku as in the beginning.
One Strip! One Strip! It's not even what he really ended up being...by the original's end.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I guess it's easier to get the plot to do whatever you want with a main character like that
Kind of like how "Saiyan pride" started to be used to excuse no end of dumbassery
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHe should do more comedy.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I'm like does he not want to write DB anymore or does he still want to?
Cause before he's like "Oh I want them to become more independent from me & do their own stuff so I can finally leave" but now he's like "Oh I finally get to write a story I've always wanted to write & boy did I write a lot this time."
Makes me go "Dude pick one!"

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm pretty sure he does still want to do it since he's apparently heavily involved in Super.
And Battle Of Gods was a story he came up with.
I think he just has his way of doing things, and while occasionally willing to experiment, easily falls back into patterns.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think 'next gen DB' would work at all.
DB already have a revolving cast, and if Gohan had stayed the main character we would have had a main cast that comprises none of the originals.
The only way to get more 'next gen' than that would be a abrupt change to a new cast, which would be alienating and wouldn't have the organic build up that the cast rotation presented.
But...the originals didn't need to "stick" around.
They could've been "doing" their own thing.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Agreed.
And it's not like Toriyama was really using them that much anyway.
I mean, we don't really see what they are doing when they aren't fighting, and when they do fight, they get beaten into the ground to hype up how powerful the newest villain is, with all of them lamenting that only Goku can do anything.
He went through the trouble of building up Gohan, and trying to do the sam with Goten and Trunks, so it'd have been nice if he tried to follow through on that.
And now, we have the story going out of it's way to not even age them at all, even though at the same age, Future Trunks actually looked much older.
Hell, current Trunks has a lot more potential than his future self! He became a Super Saiyan at age 8...unless we're going by the manga version where he was already a Super Saiyan, but I don't think it said how old he was when he did it.
One Strip! One Strip!Someone said that Gotendo and Trunks should train actually and not use the fusion technique...
How stoopid...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So I just had a random thought:
If Majin Buu used his candy beam on a Senzu bean, would said transformed Senzu still have the properties of a Senzu?
As in, would the now Senzu cookie (for example) still both restore strength and heal injuries?
One Strip! One Strip!Well if people who get turned into candy still have their power, it'd only make sense.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The milk was just blood turned white...

I don't think anyone was advocating for jumping into a next generation thing immediately anyway
