Just because it can work doesn't make it good. Especially seeing as how the pacing of the Pokemon anime is abysmal even when it's good.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Good animation does not translate to good writing. It can be the smoothest thing ever but it won't mean crap if the writing quality isn't up to snuff.
This song needs more love. That doesn't really matter to people that like the idea of cataloguing the Sakuga of an anime.
Watch SymphogearWhy is bringing up Pokémon's writing...when the animation was focus point?
Not even pointing out the quality of the show.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. You know, one of the more bafflingly cynical things I heard before the preview came out was that the animation for the movie wouldn't look as good as the character design. This is despite said character design being deliberately less detailed and easier to draw than Goku's design in Super.
While we're on the topic of animation, Totally Not Mark did a collaboration with Anime Ajay talking about the Top 10 best animated moments of the Universal Survival Saga. This is Part 1.
10: Krillin and 18 vs Shousa
9: Krillin vs Goku
8: Liquer vs Arak vs Iwen
7: 17 vs SSB Goku
6: UIO Goku vs Disco Ball Kafla
5: Goku vs Super Ribrianne
4: 18 vs Giant Ribrianne

See, I like this role for Scooby
better.

The Pokemon Anime manages to look better with every new art shift, and its been going yearly for over 20 years, with the only break being the infamous porygon episode.
OLM, humorously enough, has former DBZ animators, such as Masaaki Iwane under their belt.
IE, the guy who did this scene from the Cell saga
.
So yeah..
