I like this reveal because it addresses a common complaint about the Zenos/Grand Priest, namely that the Multiverse seems to be run by horrible people who it seems impossible to resist against. This twist makes them less cosmic-scale Psychopathic Manchildren and more semi-benevolent trickster gods.

On the other hand, this most likely means that the universes weren't actually going to be erased anyway and by recruiting Frieza, Goku put literally the entire multiverse in danger.
