there was a v-jump cover where 17 and freiza were front and center next to goku, so I guess this was in toriyamas notes
Yea, that's exactly what I was thinking too.
Also, Mexico is advertising this episode like an actual match, I love it.

I have also been in a lot of flame wars recently, God there are some messed up people on the internet.
Just go to Crunchyroll & look for the recent Tokyo Ghoul: re article & you'll noticed in the comment section two people just arguing it out.
So I'm prolly like really tense.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."...
As someone who's been in both fandoms, I'm gonna say no.
Super at least has the original Z as something proper to look at if you are dissatisfied with it.
Fairy Tail has nothing like that.
One Strip! One Strip!But... all of this was predicted. The 17 thing is most surprising, but even that was a fairly popular theory due to Never Found the Body and the similarity to Goku doing. It was prevalent enough to become annoying.
The only thing that made it seem unlikely was how poorly they were trying to cover up Freeza still being in.
Jiren can still be redemption-ified...don't lose hope, "people who used to like Jiren"...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.![]()
I knew from the moment I saw this:
When you have swagger like that, the entire world is your oyster man.

I was actually in the 17 is hiding and they can't sense his energy camp myself.
I like how they seriously tried to pretend Frieza wasn't still in the ring, though.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! To take our minds off complaints of the latest ep (which I still can't watch yet dammit!), here's a thing:
...eh, I could buy that.
One Strip! One Strip!Anyway, on the actual episode. Jiren emoting more as he loses his composure was nice, but it's a little too late at this point. Attacking the stands + not wanting to eliminate Goku could have worked fine individually, but together they're ridiculous, especially in such a short time frame.
Some nice animated moments and shots of Goku, MUI looks better with the right lighting. The recycled bits still stick out like a sore thumb and are really annoying.
I dislike Goku powering up even more after obtaining MUI, but I'm glad Jiren's power up was a new development instead of being more of him just holding back. I think it would have worked better for him to be pushed into releasing his hidden power and still falling short of MUI instead of Goku getting a friendship power-up.
I am glad that MUI was at least able to get a 'win' before it ran out, however, nothing in the rest of this fight is at all interesting and the end result was predictable. 17 being alive and in it is lame (as is Freeza but that was unavoidable) and I'm not interested in them or base Goku fighting Jiren. We have one episode to go, I really hope a large amount of time isn't spent on the remaining fight (though if it's short, that also raises the question of why it was even there).
I suppose it makes some sense that there'd be a price to pay for Ultra Instinct, since they've always called it a "limit-breaking" power. Generally speaking, pushing yourself beyond your limits is going to result in some breakage once it's over.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Freeza is still here. But, to the surprise of many, 17 is as well. Looks like the final final battle will be a weakened Jiren vs 17 and Freeza and weakened Goku.
So the next episode is the finale right? Or is there going to be a wrap-up episode after that one?
