I'll say that the difference between Veggie's crimes and Freeza's crimes is, when you look at it, only a matter of scale, really. It is still really wierd seeing Freeza in the main cast.
Also, sign me up for "anything is better than Saiyan history" since they are the most played out parts of the lore and setting - which is quite an achievement - and they've only every gotten less interesting for basically every appearance of their culture post-Bardock The Father of Goku.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Ehhhhhh
He rejects a brother he just met who then kidnaps his son.
Choosing friends over family doesn't really have much power when you've known the friends ages longer
Forever liveblogging the AvengersTo be fair, him choosing Earth over family doesn't hold much weight since Raditz literally is just introduced in that arc.
Him being Goku's brother is irrelevant if the point is Goku just rejecting his heritage, especially since the same thing comes up again with Nappa and Vegeta in the same arc and they aren't related to Goku.
I just wouldn't have made Raditz his brother to begin with in all honesty since nothing came from it.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Unfortunately Saiya-jins are battle mongrels, Raditz's whole thing could've been more effective if he didn't immediately try to attack him or stuff.

I think enough came of it as it was. Yes, Raditz was just introduced, but I still think it means something for Goku to outright reject his blood relatives. Like, as soon as you acknowledge he is a Saiyan there comes the question of his original family, and that is answered by having Raditz appear and be shot down.
You wouldn't gain anything by removing that relation so I don't know why you would.
But like you said, he rejects his Saiyan heritage over his Earth one. Raditz doesn't need to be his brother to accomplish that, because as I said, he makes the same point to Non-blood related Saiyans later.
As you said, Goku having a brother means very little to him, and as such, means very little to the audience as well.
It's ultimately a superfluous plot point for Raditz to be Goku's brother because Goku would reject him regardless. The very first thing Raditz does meeting Goku is attack his best friend, which instantly meant he was bad news
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Yeah. If Raditz at least gave Goku a tiny reason to consider the offer, then him rejecting it might have meant a bit more, but Raditz is just like any other antagonist: he comes in, fights Goku, and then is beaten and forgotten.
Neither side shows any signs of their familial relation having any sway over them at all.
One Strip! One Strip!Masako give his thoughts on the recent interview.
Huh, I never gave much thoughts on the revelation that it was the anime staff who came up with Kale (and therefore the first female Super Saiyan), and Cauliffa is only around because of Kale's existence (which is funny considering how their dynamic actually is in the series).
That means, that when given the opportunity to finally create a female Super Saiyan, Toriyama didn't even consider it, and they literally wouldn't exist if Toei didn't suggest the idea.
I mean, come on man. It never even occurred to you even once? You must be aware that this is something people have wanted, and yet you needed someone else to suggest the idea?
Dude. What the hell.
Oh yeah, and Toei still sucks, since they went the Girl Broly route...among other things.
One Strip! One Strip!@ Raditz: Personally, I find it more weird/amusing in hindsight that when Vegeta and Nappa appeared, it's Vegeta who survived despite Nappa being established as less psychopathic than him. He may be a Hate Sink(which I don't even think he fits), but at least Nappa entertained reviving Raditz before Vegeta shot it down and didn't like Vegeta killing a Saibaman for failure.
Oh, come on. Why are people so bent out of shape about this? The obsession with having a female Super Saiyan has become quite ridiculous. I doubt Toriyama would be aware about how much a section of the western fan base want this one, specific thing.
I'm not surprised that it isn't an idea that Toriyama immediately thought of, considering it appears he only did a few designs for the TOP. He clearly had no aversion to the idea, since he thought of Caulifla upon seeing Kale. He just didn't have a prompt before that.
Does this make Caulifla female Paragus?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I mean... we DO have human Super Saiyans. Gohan, Goten, and Trunks.
And if a pure-blooded Saiyan can interbreed with a human and produce fertile offspring, that means they're biologically the same species so technically they're human too, just a far-removed race that somehow evolved on a completely different planet?

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Sooner or later they will be more human than Saiya-jin and they'll still be able to go ssj.

I think said subversion should also add something to the story.
What did Goku being Raditz bro and then dying add...besides being a glorified introduction to Vegeta and Nappa (something any saiyan could have done).
