Sorry for the late response; Funimation simulcasts the series as well, so the subs are caught up all the way up to 129 just like Crunchyroll.

He also talked shit about Hit's pride as an assassin. Protected Dyspo from being maimed, stop Kale when she was out of control and could've killed someone etc. It wasn't much but the Toppo line isn't the only thing that shows his character. I also think people are over vilifying that line anyway but ymmv.
But yeah, at this point, I'm pretty confident that the episode will indeed play straight just like the spoilers indicated.
Because honestly, why else keep Freeza from being eliminated and have all the characters in-universe literally forget about his presence, if not to have him perform a cheapshot at the last second.
I guess it depends on the kid.
When I worked at the after school care program for my little sisters elementary school classes all the kids there were pretty on the ball.
They also really like Slenderman & Fiver Nights at Freddy's.
They should really get the writers who work on DC's shows (except Teen Titans Go of course) & the Star Wars cartoons.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Their contradicting things cause now it was outright stated that he doesn't care for the Pride Troopers.
They were just a tool for Jiren to use to gain ultimate power.
Which begs the question of why he saved Dyspo if he never cared for him in the first place.
He clearly didn't help any of his teammates avoid elimination.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If he is confident in his own strength, which before Goku pulled UI out of his ass he had ever right to be, why does it matter if they get eliminated?
All I'm saying is that this doesn't feel like oh Jiren was an asshole all along. It feels like Toei was trying for a subtle and nuanced characterisation, but this being what it is they failed miserably.
They are the same character. There have been plenty of differences in how things are handled or how they go down, but Frost is still Frost, Black is still Black etc, regardless of the anime or manga. Maybe manga Jiren will end up completely different in the end, but for now it is not that far fetched of an assumption.

The Toppo comment and him wailing on Vegeta and Goku felt like cheap ploys to turn us against Jiren, rather than omg Jiren is actually an asshole and it was all a facade. Otherwise Jiren hasn't done anything villainous at all, barely even antagonistic, since he has barely done anything.
