With the extra material we've learned about Dr Gero, he seems to have a fixation on immortality. He makes Lapis and Lazuli Long-Lived, which isn't that important since they'd only be in their forties when Cell awakens. He tried to recreate his son in an indestructible android, Android 16. He rid himself of aging as Android 20. Cell is of course nigh-immortal. And he made his wife a youthful android
This gives a deeper perspective on Gero than was intended. It comes off as that, in his own insanity, Dr Gero is trying to restore his family. He wants immortality so that he can create his image of his family eternal, undying, masters of the world and happy. Still a villain considering he worked with the Red Ribbon Army, but it does make him a bit more interesting than the generic Moral Myopia Mad Scientist we were introduced to
This seems more like an accident than anything else, as I doubt Toriyama thought that deeply about it.
It is pretty interesting though.
One Strip! One Strip!Man, this fight between Goku and Hit is really cool. I love how they're trying new moves and testing each other and
Goku just powers up
Oh.
So are there only the 39 dubbed episodes available on Funimation? I'm not exactly a fan of subbed Dragon Ball but I want to at least see the ending of the tournament.
I wonder if should still pick up Dragon Ball Fighter Z if I found Super underwhelming thus far. At least it has Hit and Beerus, the two characters from Super I actually like
Well shit it appears I made a mistake in signing up for Funimation in lieu of crunchyroll.

I realize this is a personal wonk but I got into Super again to see if I still liked Dragon Ball. It'd be weird for me to play the game if I weren't a fan of the source material anymore. I guess it's mostly a nostalgia game though so that helps.
Like Marvel vs. Capcom. The actual reason I play those games is because I can play as Taskmaster and Amaterasu.

Fighter Z is more a Z era game.
The Super characters such as Hit & Black for one never appeared in the story mode.
Hell the first announced DLC characters are Broly & Bardock, 2 "classic" Z era characters.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So really Badguy you should have started watching Kai or even the original Z anime to see if you still like DB not Super.
The game is indeed a great nostalgia trip love letter due to all the amazing character interactions & pretty much having most of the iconic charcters.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I have the Dragon Ball manga which I like. It flows a million times better than the anime (though it tragically lacks the part where Goku and Piccolo learn to drive). Checked out during the Buu arc because it's bad but it was a ride up until then.
Seriously, Akira Toriyama's panel work needs to be studied, it is so good.
Of course things flow better...the manga isn't wasting time so it can catch up with itself.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Because of contract deals, Funimation is uploading the airings in bulk after the Toonami Broadcast. 13 episodes at a time, 2 weeks behind when they finished airing on Toonami.
The next 13 episodes are actually going up next Tueday.
Super's sub is also available on Funimation's site as well.

I laughed at that way too much.
This song needs more love.
