I'm glad they're different. There's no point to the manga if its just a rushed version of the anime, it's better that it does its own thing to some extent. Even if I don't like everything it does there are some changes that end up being super cool.
Anyway, the retcon making Goku look like a huge asshole aside, I never bought "Goku could totally beat Majin Buu if he had wanted to". Goku never felt like he was dominating that fight. Every time Goku got a serious blow in Majin Buu pulled out even more reserves of power.
And I agree with that logic to be honest.
I mean, with the way the dragon ball universe works, even Goku had beaten Buu, a worse and even more powerful threat would have shown up. So having Goku beat the bad guy wouldn't have helped at all.

One Strip! One Strip! With the way the dragon ball actually works, no matter how much Goku tries to pass the torch, it's all going to come down to him anyway
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHe does let murderers go free in hopes of getting another fight out of them, making any murders they murder in the meantime on his head.
Vegeta murders a lot of people. That's specifically who I'm thinking of.
He wouldn't stand there and watch someone get eaten, probably. But its really a matter of degree. He's okay with a person doing a murder if he doesn't have to watch it and it doesn't happen to anyone he cares about.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHe only let Vegetarian go free in hopes of fighting him again...
He let Freeza go out of some type of cruel mercy or whateva...
He let Piccoro Jr. live so Kami wouldn't die too...and would stop him again if necessary...
He wanted Gohand to kill Cell quick...no games...
He killed Boo and wished he came back goodly...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. That Freeza thing could have really backfired if Freeza had tried pushups, situps, and plenty of juice before returning the revenge.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHe turned into a cyborg...that's almost the same thing.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Wasn't the premise of Resurrection F that by training even a little bit, Freeza jumped the power gap from the namek saga all the way to battle of gods?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHe said he was stronger as a cyborg...
Not that much stronger apparently...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah, but he'd already lost.
As we all know, if a villain who's been defeated comes back again, he's already so far behind that it's laughable he was ever a threat.
It happened with Tao Pai Pai, it happened with Frieza the first time, and it should have stayed a thing.
But Toriyama suddenly started riding the Frieza hype train.
You could also say it happened to Pilaf. True, he was only barely a threat, but he did put Goku in a trap that would have, without a doubt killed him if not for the pure dumb luck of the full moon being on that same night.
One Strip! One Strip!Of the six Gods of Destruction that were introduced and participated in the Tournament of Power(Heles, Mosco, Quitela, Sidra, Rumsshi, Belmod), which is your least favorite and favorite?
- Least favorite: Quitela. Not because it's intentional, because I like the idea of a truly evil God of Destruction that we can boo at. It's because they wasted him as an antagonist, amounting to a Big Bad Wannabe who I'm dissapointed at rather than Love to Hate or feel cathartic at his fate.
- Favorite: Sidra I love the concept behind a good God of Destruction being deconstructed, because it gives a lot of insight (at least to me) on their role, and the irony of having the weight of the worst universe on his shoulders. Universe 9 in general I'm fond of because of their role in the story and underdog status.
Yeah, my least and most favorite Hakaishin are the Token Evil Teammate and Token Good Teammate, and from twin universes to boot

Favorite: Mosco. Because it kind of fascinates me how exactly he works. Does the armor enhances his power or is a limiter? Does his supreme kai know about it? Why does he wear it, and why does he communicate using beeps? Does him being a robot helps encourage the people of U3 to lean towards body modifications and robotics?
Least favorite: Quitela. Annoying, wasted potential and a shit design.
Least Favorite: Quietla, for all the reasons said so far.
Favorite: Helles. For... reasons.
My various fanfics.Just saying, Goku sparing Vegeta has always been on my top five dumbest moments of his since he spares someone the gang were totally unable to defeat except via a giant dose of luck and had Vegeta just returned to Earth to wreak revenge he would have wiped them all out with no effort.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"

Agreed. Toriyama is more or less done with Dragon Ball or at least he doesn't want to continue the series at all. Also, Toei will not do that either as Dragon Ball is too lucrative for Toei and remaking Dragon Ball is out of the question.
"Mai waifu."
