I've been thinking about this & I think with Jiren they kinda doing a repeat with Frost.
Like the whole he's a good guy but wait he's not, he's actually evil.
I mean it was never outright stated that Jiren is a nice guy but you could assume he was a decent fellow through some evidence. Him being a PT which we have seen do heroic acts through Toppo, Dyspo, & Kashrel, being Toppo's sworn friend who is a heroic character, saving Dyspo from Maji Kayo, & his manga self who is visibly more heroic.
All this to reveal that like Frost no he is not a good person at all, he's a monster. So even if its not necessarily on purpose I think they ripped themselves off in this regard.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Does anyone know why fangirls like to ship Future Gohan and Future Trunks? That Gohan was more of a father figure to Future Trunks, like Piccolo was to Gohan
Because Future Trunks has the most interaction and thus chemistry with Future Gohan probably
Generally shippers don't have much time for token love interests
It's a thing you see in serieses with heavy gender disparity

...So am I now that you mention it.
I guess the universe does have some mercy.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. What is the appeal of an evil "character" who was once good?
Make them interesting and see where that leads.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Well, it's been a while, but I have to ask: what do you think about this Mockingbird?

Evil Superman must hold some appeal because every hack and some okay writers love to shit out their own hot take
"Wouldn't it be scary if Superman was bad??" they ask
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'm reminded of a conversation I had like a day ago.
At the college in the cafeteria huddled around a game of Fighter Z (the college is pretty lax so a lot of people have brought TV's to play games especially Fighting games) & a person sitting next to me laments how Future Trunks is the only character who uses a sword or in general a weapon. I say Black also uses a blade but Ki blades don't really count.
What I'm getting at is the Tournament of Power shouldn't have had a "no weapons" restriction. Its quite a limiting condition honestly.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."They should've brought weapons and all gotten disqualification-ed.
That would've been humor.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Plus, nearly every time a weapon comes out (Trunks included, though not in his Super arc), with the lone exception being the Nyoi-bo / Power Pole it quickly gets broken to turn it into hand to hand fight, or show that weapons are useless.
Every time, without fail.

One Strip! One Strip!Maybe not all, but enough fighters to lighten the load.
A lot of them weren't even really characters anyway.
