I've been wondering for some time how Cell knew about Trunks' time machine and came to certain conclusions about what happened to the androids. He spent two years eating people to get stronger, and less than a year to realize the androids are dead and Trunks is responsible. How did he figure out that Trunks used a time machine to be able to disable them, instead of just getting strong enough to do so?
There was a rumored third film while the Future Trunks arc was ongoing. I'm pretty sure they're talking about that, it would be in continuity with Super and it would be a continuation of it, presumably covering the Universal Survival Saga. Pretty sure that rumored film ended up being the movie that is coming out later this year, though.
Here's a thought, since Freeza told Frost that he had figured out how to use their buff state without draining ki, what if he uses that state combined with Golden to be the turning point in favor of U7 in the UI Goku vs Jiren fight? Like, he would still only be a bit above Blue, but his interference would allow Goku to turn the tables on Jiren, much like Vegeta's sneak attack on Cell.

Plot convenience
A time travel plot is shaky as is but when you start changing your setup midway you're lucky to wind up with anything coherent
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()
Did that Trunks sit on his ass for three years and not get any stronger? At that point, Cell is at best somewhat weaker than the androids, since he needs to drink more humans to go from weaker than Kamiccolo(who is equal to Android 17) to stronger. I imagine he'd be at least a lot of trouble if he did
Guys, is there any clear-cut information over what kind of "artificial human" that Androids 17, 18, and 21 are, besides being "starts with a human being as a base"? Because all the sources I could get my hand can't agree over whether or not they have robotic/non-organic within them components (obviously, Android 18 at least retains her reproductive system, otherwise we have Fridge Logic over Marron's existence; if she were adopted, you'd think someone would've mentioned it by now).
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Huh.
So they did it. Bulma has been officially recasted.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Supposedly, we can already hear her in a commercial for Dragonball-branded bath cleaner.
...yay capitalism?

I said assume & might.
I believe this movie despite being a prequel will have some immense revelation that will turn the franchise into a new direction ending in a flash-forward to the main cast & setting things up for future shit.
Huh, I'd buy that.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."@ Ikedatakeshi: Trunks of any Bad Future should be trying to get stronger anyway to make sure the planet is defended from any potential future threats. It's why in Super Future Trunks didn't sit on his ass and trained enough that he could combat Dabura. Who is at least as strong as Perfect Cell, maybe Super Perfect Cell, both of which are stronger than Future Trunks at the end the series/when he killed the androids. The Trunks of Cell's timeline should have been just as pragmatic considering he only beat the androids with a remote switch...unless there was some sort of sneak attack by Imperfect Cell and he's just covering his ass by saying it was easy
Even disregarding Super, just not using Bulma in any new Dragon Ball stuff from now on didn't strike me as particularly likely.
I wish her luck.

Trunks training on his own in his time line wouldn't amount to much. Future Gohan was older and he couldn't surpass the Androids. Then look at present Gohan with FPSS, ROSAT training and sparring with a fellow Super Saiyan.
It was perfectly reasonable for Cell not to expect some explosive growth from Trunks. When the future Trunks we know returned to his time, Cell was completely surprised Trunks was even powerful enough to kill the Androids.
It's perfectly consistent.
