When it comes to training, quality always overcomes quantity. Look at at Future Gohan, who had like 15 years to train... and wasn't even one tenth of as strong as present Gohan after less than a year in Time Chamber.
I'll give you Gohan and Gotenks, but I'm pretty sure Future Trunks would beat him up pretty hard.
Well if we're using that logic, literally every fight "shouldn't count", since Toriyama doesn't care about writing them anymore. And that's a deep dark rabbit hole I'm not willing to go down.
Yeah but that vast majority of his power is from pushups and sparring with poachers, so I just think of being enhanced as the same thing as being born with Saiyan blood. A good boost to start off with but hard work has to carry you most of the way.
Super doesn't have "filler" in the traditional sense. The anime and the manga are different adaptations of Toriyama's notes, and thus are separate continuities. Super Anime isn't an adaptation of Super Manga, nor is Manga inherently more accurate.
Yup.
But most people still consider the manga the true adaptation.
Honestly, I wish they'd just made sure the two were more consistent with each other.
One Strip! One Strip!Character moments and interactions themselves can be worth it even without directly moving the plot, if they're good enough.
The thing about Super is though, unless it is specifically trying to make you go "see how much these characters have developed!" it tends to have them acting like their less developed selves.

When Krillin is allowed to have these moments, we'll tell you. Krillin is the one getting shafted here, not Tien.
