Think the point isn't that it's popular, just that if they want to ignore it, they can.
That said, pretty sure they won't. Super had a bit too much of a push compared to GT to just straight up ignore it in future installments.
If they can ignore it, they can just as easily not. And no amount of salt from fans can change that.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.It all depends on how much they wanna maintain "consistency" or not.
And if they follow up on the fucking Multiverse setting they have.
Which they'd be hard pressed not too because multiple Goddamn universes gives them the perfect excuse to pull whatever new ultimate threat out of their asses.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Someone can disagree with the consensus and not be wrong - this is media, it's subjective. Heaven knows I've disagreed with Saiga countless times, but you can't just insult someone when they have an opinion that differs from yours.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"He's a walking character...
Is that not all he need be...?

Does it really show someone being strong or just that Vegeta sucks compared to Goku?
I would like for a new character focus, but like Pokemon, pretty sure they'd just stick with Goku and Vegeta (With Krillin, Gohan and Piccolo on the side) for sake of familiarity. So same song and dance.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Yakuzu's right, I never called the series unpopular or thought that they'd move past the series for that reason.
My thought was more that if for artistic reasons they wanted to go in a different direction, they have all the power to do so. I don't actually think they would, but I could easily see them not directly continuing the series by focusing on stuff like the new Saiyan movie. I doubt Toriyama would let something's popularity get in the way of something he wanted to do.
Also, I should further explain from my original post: by influencing the franchise, I'm talking about writing style, cast inclusions, etc. Like how Super follows from DB but runs on different logic and excludes characters it doesn't want to use, a later product could still have Super in continuity but have a completely different feel from it due to a shift in perspective on writing.
But yes, they could outright jettison it out of continuity if they wanted to with nothing stopping them. I just don't think they will, not unless they go into a long hibernation period and get a new idea for a revival that it incompatible with what came before it.
Also, Pushover: Statistics don't lie because statistics make no statements by themselves. The people using statistics to make statements are where things can get misconstrued or misrepresented, not to mention that various forms of gathering statistics have flaws that are often overlooked in using statistics - there's a sizable number of people who just stop following things they dislike, so their voices are rarely heard.
I could argue that GT was more popular than the Z anime since the GT dragon box outsold the Z ones. But that ignores several other factors, such as the fact that the Z anime has had more releases (easier to obtain, more likelihood of fans already having collected it) and due to length is much less expensive to collect than Z.
Depends on a few factors. Like I think the manga should have ended with Goku/Vegeta dead and Gohan as the MC, so if that had happened that'd be him as the MC. Goten and Trunks would be prominent fighters and get a lot more development, Boo would also be one of the heavy hitters. Bra and Pan are the up and coming. Oob's existence is dubious - it doesn't seem like Gohan's character to deliberately arrange that, though there are ways of writing that in. Piccolo is... if there's a fresh way to handle him, sure, otherwise he should be written out as well. Gohan would eventually pass the torch onward.
But if I'm going from the manga's actual ending, then throw Goku and Vegeta in there and make it more of an ensemble cast. I don't think trying to make Oob the main character is a good idea if it couldn't be passed to Gohan, especially because narratively there is so much less reason for it to be him. So in universe he's training to be Goku's successor, but Goku's not really the main character anymore, and the focus is shared around more. Then it depends exactly what kind of story is happening for who is involved.
Really, I don't know what kind of story I'd set after Z if I was doing one. Before BOG, I had been brainstorming a fanfic that was a post-manga continuation, and it had Gohan as the MC but with a much larger active supporting cast that would change based on the arc. It was directly after Z, so Pan was too young to be active and Oob was to be developed over the course of several arcs. Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, Kaioshin and Oob were all to have prominent roles at different points in the story. I also had some stuff planned for the humans, and for structure purposes that would likely be cut alongside the Piccolo/Kaioshin stuff.

Yeah, Saiga, your view of Super is not the popular view of Super. You may despise it, but the wider audience likes it. Here's what it's rated, compared to Kai and GT.
Kai: 8.4/10 on IM Db, 4/5 on Funimation, 8.1/10 on TV.com, and 94% approval by Google users
GT: 6.9/10 on IM Db, 6.7/10 on My Anime List.net, 4.1/5 on Hulu, and 86% approval by Google users
Super: 8.1/10 on IM Db, 8.7/10 on TV.com, and 96% approval by Google users
Statistics don't lie. The wider audience apparently like Super just as much as Kai, if not a little bit more, while both shows are regarded better than GT.
