I'm still suspecting they're going to retcon End of Z in some way, at least so that some of the little details are no longer the same due to Super's new influence.
Depending on how Super "ends," I could see them starting again just before End Of Z and changing its circumstances a bit.

I'm... oddly numb to all of this.
Like, yeah, the anime is ending and that's one less thing for me to watch. But, I had my good times with it, and plenty of bad ones. It wasn't like watching Z and DB every afternoon after school, goodness no, but it was a nice little thirty minutes sliced out of a boring, political week.
I knew this anime wasn't going very far - the 10-year gap between Buu and the End of Z. I don't know what else I could have expected beyond an epic final battle. I'm not getting any hint of catharsis here, or longing. If the manga continues, so be it. It'll be a little disappointing without Kaioken Bleeeu, the Yamcha baseball filler, and probably Kefla - but the manga works just as well, if not even a little better on its own.
I'm just curious to see how they explain Super Saiyan God being a thing, or if they'll just end it lazily with the events of the tournament and not try to fill in the gap between this and Goku meeting Uub.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I still think that Tournament of Power has been legitimately great and that the Goku Black/Zamasu arc was a fun ride even if it did shoot itself in the foot at the very last minute. Ask for the rest of the series... well, it left more of an impression than GT ever did. So I think the journey of a new Dragon Ball series was worth it in the end.

The only thing I held against Super was that everyone jumped to go, "Ha hah, this is canon now because Toriyama's writing it, therefore GT isn't canon! Hahahahahah!" And I like GT somewhat, so, that triggered the heck out of me.
And, "Wow, Goku Black is so amazing, he's an evil Goku, that's so fresh and interesting, so much better than Turles!"
I warmed up to Goku Black after he tore a hole in reality, and the constant derision of Super overrode the initial hooting and hollering for it being "more canonical" than GT.
It's weird how that happened. Everyone went from hyped for Super to "ugh, the animation is horrid," and it's like it never really recovered. There's probably 10 videos on Youtube right now that start with, "Dragonball Super sucks." I think I even saw a "GT is better than Super!" video once.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Suffice to say, Super has been polarizing on the internet but it was good ride while it lasted. I really wish Super wasn't constrained by the Z ending but considering how lax Toriyama/Toei is about the canon, I guess that was not going to happen. Super also caused to reevaluate what I liked about Z seeing how it was aimed at Japanese fans of the original manga/anime, not the Funimation/Ocean dubbed people and the rest of the world. The characters are dumber than usual, the fights lack any kind of substance, the animation is garbage, etc. Super is not Z despite its best effort to use nostalgia from Dragon Ball.
"Mai waifu."Super definitely had a rocky start, I even gave up on it early on. It won me back and I stayed for good. The animation nowadays is better than it has ever been in the Dragon Ball tv shows by a wide margin, the writing is pretty good, the plots are original and engaging, and the fights range from decent to fantastic.
That goes without saying. It wouldn't be getting over a hundred episodes if it wasn't successful.
Though I think Battle of Gods is what revitalized the franchise. Gods success lead to Resurrection F & Resurrection F's success lead to Super & Super's success lead to the upcoming Saiyan movie.
Which all goes back to how Evolution's failure was such a disaster & stain on the franchise Toriyama came back to the franchise to do damage control.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Things I've liked from Super:
- Universe 6 (Hit is legit my favorite of all the new characters introduced in Super)
- The Slice of Life Episodes
- Goku Black
- A lot of the fights from this recent TOP arc.
- 17 being back.
- Ultra Instinct
My big issue with Super as a whole is it's just serviceable. Not necessarily hateable but it kept making a lot of mistakes that it never fully course-corrected from.
Some of the contentious things some people dislike like the U6 Saiyan Girls and 17's massive power boost, I ended up liking myself.

and
I pretty much agree with. I think the big mistake was not just keeping the stakes really small and never really changing the status quo.

"Mediocre."
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I agree with the above posts, I also really hate the characterization of Goku in Super. I know now that Goku was selfish and dumb but as Saiga stated along time ago Goku was a good guy even if he isn't a superhero. Goku had these qualities but they exaggerated them and "poisoned" his character into someone who pretty is just a selfish person all around. Goku had always been selfish but he wasn't so selfish that he didn't care about everyone he cares about. It is almost as if they took Abridged!Goku and made him into the main cahracter of Super
"Mai waifu."

I rather miss Goku's End of Z/GT outfit.
Hope he gets that back.
