That's kinda weird...
Exaggerated accents are the worst a voice has to offer...

"Mai waifu."Actually making Goku and Chichi speak like hillbillies is one of those things that just wouldn't work in English because, as has been said it would just come off as very forced, because it would likely be very apparent it's not how the voice actor really speaks.
And, yeah, the way Goku speaks in Japanese is pretty clearly different from standard Japanese, but it still sounds like Nozawa without her trying to do a really bad accent. Although, as I'm not a native Japanese speaker (and I assume none of us here are) we probably aren't the best judges on how natural she sounds.

Chi-Chi must be like Del-Boy from Only Fools And Horses in that regard.
"I must say goodbye, or as the French say, bonjur."
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"The easiest way to make Goku a hick in english is to give him a Crocodile Dundee voice
Team Four Star explained it the best on how I felt about that statement.
Goku's hick accent works in Japanese because he just sounds like he's speaking very informal Japanese, which highlights his childish attitude.
That doesn't translate well to English, so Sean just makes him sound more upbeat, jovial and simple minded. Which is still true to the character.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I don't get most objections here about the Tournament of Power arc which is in my mind is probably the best thing to come out of Dragon Ball in a long time. There is actually effort now being put into the series now that wasn't there in the beginning. The animation and fight choreography is more often than not, good to great. The fights haven't been dragging on forever and move at brisk pace. The stakes feel real for once as there is *no* coming back from being erased unless win and get the Super Dragon Balls. It's given good showings to most of the non-Saiyan members of Team 7 especially Roshi and Android 17. Freeza is more interesting as a character now then he has ever been before as the Token Evil Teammate with an agenda. We gotten actual female Super Saiyans at last who are treated as worthy rivals to Goku. Ultra Instinct feels fresh and exciting as a transformation in way that Super Saiyan forms haven't been since the Cell Arc.
So what is the fundamental problem that most of you have with it?

I think there must have been a word omitted there, but regardless the stakes don't feel "real" because there's no way those universes are actually staying gone, and even if they were, most of the characters aren't actually treating this anywhere near as seriously as they should most of the time, which basically ruins the tone something like this should have.
I'd dispute most of the other things you said as well, but I'm curious what other people have to say first.

Name a time in Dragon Ball when Goku doesn't do this. He did it with Freeza, He did it with Cell. He did it with Buu when the entire universe was at stake.
The first two are completely matters of subjectively but as to power-scaling... Good, it was a straight-jacket around the series and I'm glad they thrown it out in favor of what's more interesting in a fight.

I'm actually glad they didn't.
I cannot stand southern accents.
