I'm getting the feeling that 17 is going to be the sacrificial lamb to hype up whatever Toppo's new power up is.
I'll add on a third thing, which is kind of a pet peeve too; the change of timeslot. Unlike Z and GT, Super is explicitly airing Super in an early morning time slot targeting kids and you can really see it in it's pacing. I almost wonder if Goku's regression was done so severe, not just because Toriyama wanted to "course correct", but because they wanted to heighten Goku's Kid-Appeal Character status?
Not really. That's pretty much classic Frieza.
The bulk of the fight against him is him just Lol!Nope-ing everything. This ain't nothing new.
One Strip! One Strip!Heh yeah it was funny thought its looking like Dyspo has something up his sleeve next episode pushing Frieza to Golden mode.
Though man that's a sad thought, the idea that this show is purposely being dumbed down & declawed for kids. Damn what sad times we live in.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mean, Dragonball was never really citizen Kane. It's always been a goofy, doofy show at heart, like a big shaggy friendly dog. The problem with Super isn't that it's a show for kids, because Dragonball's always been a show for kids, it's that it's a badly made show for kids.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"I don't know. The Goku Black arc isn't the first time the entire population of earth (children included) has been wiped out. I actually think the way Zamasu did it was quicker and cleaner than Super Buu's method (what with using single beams that blasted through the victims and likely left a lot of bodies behind).
One Strip! One Strip!People gave more of a shit in Z in general such as the Buu Saga at the very least.
The only person who didn't give a fuck was Gotenks.
Also Zamasu's immortality is a good a example of the toned down violence. How every hit he gets shrouds his body in smoke is weird.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I just think this is all examples of bad writing as opposed to tuning it down for kids. The only way that's really happened is taking out all the blood, and that's definitely not Super's core problem by a long-shot.

Or how Goku and Vegeta get stabbed multiple times and don't shed any blood.
Yeah, I should have specified that better. I think One Piece in particular is the prime of example of that to because I believe it had the same time slot during it's entire run so far, and you can definitely see the tonal change with censorship in the anime Post-Time Skip.

@Soble Art aside, DBM just isn't that good. And the fact that it is based entirely on what ifs and past events doesn't make it feel like a continuation, as is the fact that it is entirely about the tournament instead of an arc based stiry. It definitely has more of a gaiden feel.
