This is wonderful news...
Everyone will hate Karrot...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Here's another thing, we all know that it's inevitable that the other universe will be pissed off at Goku, and Universe 7 by extension, but what will the other Z-Fighters think of this? How will Goku and Krillin's friendship be tested? How will Vegeta feel about his unborn child's life is on the line thanks to his rival? How will Piccolo feel now that it seems his rant towards Goku during the Cell Games clearly didn't stick? How will every non-fighter feel once they hear this news?
I'm wondering how Bergamo knew about this to suggest it, since as far as we know, the only people to know about this are Goku, Gohan, the U7 Gods, and the Daishinkan and Zen-Ohs. Did Daishinkan decide to reveal the surprise in-between the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the exhibition match?

There all gonna be pissed that's for sure.
Honestly I really hope he's not doing it on purpose. Cause if he's aware of what's gonna happen if he wins then he has to take a dive. No one is gonna think of him any less, people won't be any danger, he can have a rematch with Bergamo in a less tense situation if he wants, hell choosing to lose in this case would be the morally resolute reason. But if Goku is still intent on giving it his all at beating Bergamo, fully aware of what might happen as a result caring more for getting a good fight then universal destruction then I'm gonna lose all sympathy for him.
Fuck I think this would qualify as a moral event horizon for him.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think Goku will be caught between a rock and a hard place. Don't forget that Zenô might destroy one or several universes if he gets bored during the exhibition matches. Especially if he's disappointed in Goku of all people. So Goku pretty much has to go all out to entertain Zenô and might win even though he'd want to lose for once. So I wouldn't call him an asshole just yet.

I'm expecting the Grand Priest to full on manipulate things here. Unless he announces the Universe destroying stipulation in between the second and third matches, I suspect the Grand Priest may have told Bergamo about it beforehand, and only him, in order to goad him into making this deal with the Zen'Os, whom automatically accepts without thinking its strange because they have the mentality of small children.
Also, I believe the actual match between Goku and Bergamo would go like this: Goku will initially go all out on Bergamo in order to get the Zen'Os excited about the match, but then steadily hold himself back to allow Bergamo to gain the upper hand to further keep up the ruse with the Zen'Os. However, one of three situations may occur, leading to Goku winning. Either Bergamo's body completely shuts down at the moment Goku decides to throw the fight and let Bergamo finish him due to the wolfman's body being no where NEAR Goku's level of conditioning; Goku's Saiyan instincts suddenly flare up and he whoops Bergamo's ass like some devastatingly badly timed bout of 'roid rage; or, either through the Zen'Os disappointment and/or through the Grand Priest's manipulation of the Zen'Os, Goku is declared the winner anyway despite Bergamo technically winning.
I doubt that third possibility would happen, considering that one would be the biggest copout, but the other two possibilities are more plausible, the second adding to the overall drama.

DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!![]()
The Grand Priest. Its clear that he's enabling the Zen'Os highly destructive behavior on a certain level, similar to a manipulative caretaker who is molding their charges into something bad by spoiling them and encouraging bratty behavior. Similar to how through Hit we saw the terrifying implications and application of Guldo's time manipulation powers by someone actually competent and willing to train them, the relationship between the Grand Priest and the Zen'Os would show how Babidi would have been able to better manipulate Buu if he treated him more like the child-like being he is instead of bullying him constantly and being a cowardly dick to everyone.

DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!The Grand Priest straight up told all the 12 Gods, Angels & Kais that the tournament was held at Goku's request/recommendation as well as the latter confirming it & telling them all that his reason was that he wanted to fight strong opponents.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well now Before you could use the excuse that Goku didn't know he was gonna get people killed but things have gotten complicated . Goku could throw this fight and tournament will still happen but we all know that's way to easy of a solution. :p The discourse of Goku's character is gonna ramp up this year.
35 year old white man.Provisional Titles for episodes 81, 82 and 83.
◊
Toppo steps in for 82, which means something really bad must have happened. Goku might have fucked up something fierce. Also, the following episode will deal with the Z-Fighters coming together for the tourney.
Before I wasn't sure whether they were going for an actual character arc for Goku or if it was just incompetent writing that doesn't realize that Goku is acting like a villain here but now it's definitely an arc. This is almost cartoonish.
This song needs more love.Hard to say if this will actually have a character arc for Goku. Goku will probably when the match(and the whole tournament) and use the Super Dragon Balls to restore the other universes. or would this be a cop out ending for some?
35 year old white man.It depends If Goku wins his match against Bergamo on purpose it will be a cop out. If Bergamo passes out before Goku can reasonably throw their fight like I think he will getting the dragon balls would be Goku's goal to make up for his screw up. Either way I don't think Goku will change after this arc.

That wouldn't be a cop-out...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. If Goku ignores Bergamo and happily beats him up, then the entire multiverse will be against Universe 7 and probably a few from Universe 7 would agree with them. That sounds like the more interesting option.
This song needs more love.

Watch the Multiversal Tournament as the Z-Fighters keep pushing Goku into enemy attacks out of spite.
Now real talk, I really hope Goku feels some sort of regret in episode 81 or 82. (depending how long this fight will be) Considering that Beerus, Whis, Shin, Kibito, Gohan, Buu and Satan are all there, they'll all probably rip Goku a new one if things come to fruition.
