Yeah, I suppose all that's fair. I don't expect he'd win but he'd put a better fight.

Word of God states that Goku will not surpass Beerus so I'm pretty sure even Super Saiyan 4 Gogetta would lose against him.

I question that Word of God since Goku's surpassed just about every teacher he's had - Roshi, Kami, King Kai, life (I mean Goku's come back from the dead for crying out loud). I expect we'll see Beerus actually be afraid of Goku this arc, if that worried look he has in the latest preview means anything. Plus, again, Goku is getting brazen, actively challenging Beerus the same way he does Vegeta - he sees Beerus as a rival, not a threat.

All he is is just big muscles, constant screaming, full frontal evilness, an absurdly ridiculous & petty backstory all played to the brim with heavy metal music. Perfect popcorn fun goodness.

See, someone gets it. Heck, take away the heavy metal and you basically have Garlic, Cooler, Turles, Hirudegarn, and Janemba.

I feel bad for Joji Yanami. I heard he is a legend in Japanese voice acting. The fact he could barely speak above a whisper and portray no emotion in his role as King Kai in Super and is now on medical leave is sad. Masako Nozawa is only 5 years younger than him (80 years old) and she still sounds energetic as Goku, Gohan, and Goten.

It'd be an interesting twist if Beerus died before Goku could surpass him, and because he never got to face the full extent of his power Goku is left forever wondering, no matter how strong he gets, whether he ever matched him or not.

This would allow him to never surpass Beerus while, in the eyes of the audience and the characters, leaving it up in the air.

I think Goku might figure out that he's stronger than Beerus by the time he's single-handedly pounding the Potara Fusion of both Zen-Oh's into the dirt.

Just thinking out loud again - Dragonballs and artificial life. We never find out if 16 was brought back to life or not.

Since Android 17 was brought back to life and apparently still has the ability to fire energy beams then that means the wish to bring him back brought back his entire body, including the cybernetics (Same thing when 18 is brought back after the Earth is destroyed). We also see this with Freeza, although he is brought back in the same state in which he died - the Dragon will bring you back in a state in which you are "alive," even if that state isn't optimal for physical function.

In which case, 17 was beaten up and probably being digested, but nonetheless, we don't see him come back with burn marks or bruises. We don't see him at all. We can assume he was "repaired" the same way Krillin didn't come back in pieces, and Vegeta didn't come back with a hole in his ribcage.

So then the Dragon can and will revive lifeforms who have been augmented, and fix them if specified, or if the damage isn't too severe.

Gero, however. Gero had his head kicked off and crushed. But Gero was already a brain inside of a mechanical shell. So if Shenron brought him back would he:

  • be a brain inside of a jar.
  • still have his head unit intact.
  • be brought back in entirety, with his Android body restored.

I suppose it would depend on the wording of the wish. If somebody really wanted him back whole. But, couldn't Sorbet and Tagoma have just wished for Freeza's body and soul to be revived "in whole form?"

I'm guessing if someone brought Gero back with the wish, "Please bring the androids creator back to life!" then Shenron would explain that he was inside a mechanical body, and that his only remaining organ was his brain. His head was severed from his body and crushed shortly before his death. "It would be useless to restore a soul to a body like this."

Otherwise there'd be a disturbing scene of them wishing Gero back and a human brain landing at their feet.

16 is probably still dead given that he was a robot rather than a living person.

Yeah, you can't "revive" something that was never alive to begin with.

Cyborgs 17 and 18 still count as living creatures because they are regular humans with mechanical replacements throughout their bodies. Personally, I'd also still count Gero as a living cyborg as well, though he is admittedly toeing the line.

[up][up]Yeah, you can't "revive" something that was never alive to begin with.

That sounds like a rather sketchy technicality. But far be it from me to question the limitations of giant lizards made by alien slug people.

DB universe has metaphysical souls. That's probably the dividing line between living beings and non-living entities like Android 16.

You could probably "revive" Android 16 by making a wish to restore his body to the exact structure it was before Cell destroyed it, but that's not covered by the "revive everyone" wish so you'd have to use a whole separate wish to do it.

I mean, at least in this setting we have confirmations that souls exist. Gero, 17, 18 certainly have them, but it would be odd for 16 and the other fully robotic ones to have one. I'm not really sure what's arbitrary about that line of thinking.

[nja]'d. Anyway, they could probably specifically ask for 16 to be rebuilt, but saying "bring Android 16 back to life" probably won't cut it.

Wow, even my edit was [nja]'d.

Something about them having special enzymes in their stomach that extract nutrients from water.

Krillin is officially five feet tall (153 cm). That's only slightly shorter than the average Japanese male (159 cm).

I'm inclined to think Shenron brought Freeza back in tiny chunks because Freeza's an asshole, and he could get away with it. That's just me half-joking though.

I think the reason you give of damage being critical is the best. Freeza's species is remarkably resilient: he could recreate Freeza sans-metal without life threatening problems, whereas human bodies are too fragile and he couldn't do the same for 17 and 18 without setting them up to immediately die again.

[up][up] Damn he's good. smile

Also back to Broly for a bit, I just thought of this but Super could make him canon but this time do more with his character. Especially with the appearance of Bro-lady they could change his motivation or character & add nuance to him so he's not just a raging maelstrom of destruction & screaming. I mean its not like it has to be a complete retread of the movie after all.

Well they don't have too but its an interesting thought, at least to me, heh.

Bios for 2 of the Trio the Dangers, the GOD and Supreme Kai of U-9, as well as the Surpreme Kai of U-11!

The wolves' GOD is the drawf, who's name is Sidra (pun on Cider) and their Supreme Kai is Rou, who's a prick. The Supreme Kai of Universe 11 is named Kai, and this confirms that U-11 is where the clown GOD lives since Kai was seen in the promo next to him.

Also, the Fusions DLC is coming in 2 days, which comes with new characters, online battles and more!
