Those who say Amaterasu is as hot as the sun clearly does not know how hot the sun is.

Not absorb energy, absorb chakra, big difference, because Chakra is an unique energy to the descendants of the Otsutsuki.

Susanoo wouldn't even slow Cell's enemies down.

Amaterasu being hot as the sun is likely complete exaggeration, because if it actually was, everyone in the series would be dead and the planet would be a barren wasteland.

[up][up]Completely different kind of 'android' that isn't even an android, though, because Cell is not really an android as much as he is a combination clone made through Lego Genetics. He even starts out as an embryo.

Cell feels more akin to a member of Freeza's race with Namekian and Saiyan traits, incluiding Super Saiyan-like ki, than an Android.

Hell, the reason he needed to absorb the cyborgs was to fuel its natural development, and at the end he was able to turn back into Perfect without 18.

Still, Gero's computer being able to play xenogenetic engineering was a damn feat.

I mean, maybe the heat is contained and not allowed to spread.

Also, the thing I can't get over with Cell is that he's made of cells, not DNA.

He's not quite a gene splicing project, more a weird Petri dish.

Makes as much sense as attacks that can barely blow up the landscape having planet-destroying power behind them.

Also, chakra is not a special energy for humanity, as humanity already possessed half of the energy needed to make it in the first place, even before Kaguya came to the planet; no one knew how to use it though.

To be honest, they use "cells", but Cell works more like a genetic hybrid than a cellular chimaera. Artistic License – Biology and all that.

Also, yeah, Toriyama doesn't know the first thing about biology let alone genetics.

Dude, you have to check up that hatred. It isn't healthy.

Like.

It's almost like Cell is an android that's actually a micromachine colony. And those micromachines are cells. And those cells are reprogrammed to do certain roles. The way that in an ordinary engineering job you design certain parts to handle stressors, and another part to provide power, and processing power for computational output, and so on.

At least, that'd be neat.

[up][up][up]The fun thing is, you don't have a point here because unlike the informed attribute of 'it's as hot as the sun!', we know that the characters are being truthful when they say that they can destroy planets.

See, the difference here is, Vegeta? He likely has destroyed planets with the Gallick Gun, but I would bet my house that no Uchiha knows how hot the sun actually is. They're talking out of their ass.

Cell works as an "android" in the sensee that he's an artificial life form created by a guy who calls all of his successful projects "androids". He's just radically different in nature in every other way, from every other thing Gero ever did. Which is very important, but, still.

Then we have Namekian cells regenerating Freeza/Saiyan traits... Mmm, if they had thrown around less "cells allow me to do everything" and more "genes" and "footage and ease to learn stuff my genetic donors did", it'd work better.

But, in any case, it is an action-comedy series with Aliens Speaking English, talking shapeshifting animals, and martial arts allowing people to throw energy beams and fly around.

Jinzoningen works fine for Cell tho: Artificial person fits.

I always just figured that Gero some how combined the cells he got into "super cells" or something. Mainly because the idea that Cell literally has all of their cells freely flowing in him is incredibly stupid.

I mean. Other than filler, are we sure about that? Really?

Like. How do we know for sure he wasn't making stuff up?

Like, just for the sake of argument.

I mean. It's not even like every planet would be equally easy to blow up. They've got different compositions and gravity and things.

Mainly because the idea that Cell has literally has all of their cells freely flowing in him is incredibly stupid.

Oh, yeah, absolutely.

Like, there is no aspect of Cell that isn't completely stupid on every scientific level.

I find the idea that Gero had absolutely no idea wtf he was doing when he was making Cell to be hilarious.

Like Cell was just the product of the mad ramblings that the computer tried to sort out into a workable plan.

[up]Vegeta was incredibly angry. When he bluffs, he's smug. Compare him threatening to blow up Earth to him threatening to blow up Gero.

Furthermore, why would he lie about that? You can say "Well, he wanted Goku to meet him head on", but the thing is, Vegeta wasn't so much going "well you better try to block it!", he was going something closer to "FUCK YOU, FUCK YOUR FAMILY AND FUCK THIS WHOLE FUCKING PLANET!".

TL;DR: We know he wasn't bluffing because it was a ragequit.

I mean, Vegeta can't breathe in space, and his pod was still in East City (what was left of it, I mean, the rubble and glass).

And. I find it difficult to picture Vegeta doing a taking you with me that early, before he tried to go Great Ape, which was a lot less likely to kill him.

Vegeta's dumb, but dying in an effort to kill a single low class Saiyan that was weaker than him and hadn't surpassed him yet seems dumb in a way that doesn't satisfy his ego.

Vegeta went up to face Freeza even though he was half as strong as Freeza and even urged him to transform further, knowing perfectly well that Freeza was stronger than him by a large margin even in his first form.

Vegeta has been doing things that should kill him several times over forever.

I'm fairly sure that the idea of suffocating in space didn't even cross his mind when he was about to fire the Gallick Gun.

I mean.

I like to think Vegeta isn't actually that dumb.

Pretty dumb, yeah, but.

Also, Vegeta plus Gohan plus Krillin plus Goku plus Piccolo is probably (?) stronger than Frieza form one. Might have been Vegeta's threat assessment math there.

Vegeta definitely is that dumb though.

Furthermore, even if their powerlevels together added up to being stronger than Freeza, Vegeta should know that a multitude of weaker enemies would still lose against a single strong guy, that is literally the only reason he survived Earth in the first place (without Goku's Kaioken, they wouldn't even have been able to hurt him to begin with!).

He was banking on Frieza's full power not being that more impressive, along with Krillin, and especially Gohan, being able to bridge the gap if they worked together.

He was horribly mistaken, obviously.

I mean. True.

He's also a narcissist and egomaniac though. Dying in battle to Frieza's higher forms is at least a challenging opponent. The guy who wiped out his race, pushed to a point he hadn't been pushed to ever before. There's honor, glory, pride in that.

Suffocating after barely killing a low-class clown he should have been able to crush easily is, like. The most ignoble and stupid death imaginable.

LSBK Since: Sep, 2014
#49650: Jan 13th 2017 at 7:24:53 PM

Eh, he really had no way to know how much stronger Frieza would become. Like, obviously it would have been better to at least try and take him out before he could do anything (like he tried with Recoome), but, eh, that probably wouldn't have worked either.

So still pretty stupid.
