Maybe they just went to another universe's afterlife. Maybe that's what actually happens when you get killed in the afterlife. After all, the living world's a relatively small part of the universe...

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariI wish there was more to this episode: more of Future-Zeno reacting to the Zamasu, and more establishment that Zamasu's infected the entire multiverse in general to justify Zeno wiping everything. More of Future-Mai interacting with the Present-Characters, especially Pilaf and Shu. A shot of Future Trunks and Mai arriving and meeting Alt-Future-Trunks and Mai (that's going to get confusing, I bet). Etc. Also, on the whole, I wish Gowasu had more of an impact on the climax and resolution beyond just being there and apologizing a lot.
Especially given that I feel like the fights in previous episodes were too drawn out and repetitive, flashing through the downtime - which is the thing that imo Super does best - seems a bit like a waste.
On the upside, the next episode looks like its going to be the fun kind of crazy.

Trunks' entire timeline and everyone he knew and loved being nuked was appropriate?

IKR?
My attempt at a long-winded explanation:
I've heard others say that DB has an aesop where, if you put your mind to it, you can do anything you want. The way that Future Trunks' arc ended is the biggest slap in the face to that aesop. It doesn't matter how good or strong you are; everyone you ever loved is going to die and you can't do anything about it. Episode 67 is largely a slap in the face to the optimistic and uplifting feel that DB usually has.
And like it was said by Memers (IIRC) several posts ago: the characters with the most development from the ending of episode 67 were written out.

Do not obey in advance.Yes, that does seem very appropriate...some people just don't get it good.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I will say that one thing I did like about this whole ordeal is that it showed that all of those times where the villains tried to wish for immortality, this is how bad it could have gotten. Everyone is lucky that Garlic Jr. is non-canon and trapped in the Dead Zone.

This song needs more love.Garlic isn't a god though...he has no weird power besides that bulking up thing.
He wasn't gonna become the universe or whatever.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It appears to be because he's a god...I had to actually check, his mentor said it is as such. He could've just came back if he was right in the head.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Dragon Ball is not always optimistic, though. The main characters are a bunch of fighting-obsessed idiots who cause as many problems as they solve. Most of Super has essentially been Goku and Vegeta getting their worlds into trouble by not taking things seriously and having the gods have to reluctantly clean up their messes.
Or, at least, that's what it's been like from Ro F.

The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Dragon Ball never really had an aesop of 'you can do it if you put your mind to it', because it was made very clear very early on that Goku was an absolute genius at combat, not some everyman, and later on, he was a member of a warrior race that evolved for the purpose of combat.
I think that's basically the main difference - Goku was never meant to represent people or have people identify with him.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariI protest the use of Tagalong Kid because Gohan was both never really useless (even if he only served for stalling purposes, that's still something) and also he was actually the protagonist from just after Radditz to the Buu saga (Goku had passed the torch and become the Cavalry).
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariHis character arc was very much the Audience Surrogate wish fulfilment "just believe in yourself because you're stronger than you think" idea, though. That's what I mean. He was there for the audience to project onto by being much more relatable.

Oi! That's my joke!
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
