Everyone was assuming that Zeno would snap his fingers and Zamasu would go away. Either that or do nothing. Straight up rendering the entire story meaningless was unexpected.

This song needs more love.So this is a "Shaggy Dog" Story on Future Trunk's entire existence. Any sane person would probably commit suicide after this.

My various fanfics.I love that ending. It's truly beautiful. I'll be watching Super pretty soon so it'll be good to know that, even if BS in the Future Trunks Saga starts getting on my nerves, it'll be completely worth it for that glorious ending.
Also, something I just realized is that Vegeta has grown a lot. He spent three years alone with Goku, after all.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!So could we actually chalk this up as a win for Zamasu? Sure he died but all of the ningens died along with him.
This song needs more love.So this means Goku is the biggest mass-murderer in Dragon Ball history, right? Zeno was the gun. Goku pulled the trigger.
My various fanfics. If Goku had remembered the seal, Zamasu would've been trapped. Then maybe Beerus could've hakai'd him and Black could've been defeated between the three of them.
My various fanfics. What a shitty ending to a fun saga.

My various fanfics. So he basically just nuked the entire timeline, everyone included...oh my god hahahahaha.
What an Esoteric Happy Ending.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. You know it's bad when no one is talking about Gohan training with Piccolo in his Ultimate form.
This song needs more love.Like I said, I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if this whole experience was so soul-crushing that it drove Trunks to suicide.
My various fanfics.Seems like the next episode is about Goku feeling guilty about causing King Kai's death so he'll make a wish to revive him.
...It's been over a decade in their universe, and only now does he think about reviving King Kai. (And is there even a point? It's not as if King Kai's after-life is any different from when he was alive)
And there's going to be some conflict over whose wish gets granted in that episode as well. Would be kind of interesting to see heroes want to use the Dragon Balls for more petty/selfish reasons. Don't think that idea was ever brought up since the original Dragon Ball.
It was basically a running gag; Shenron has been summoned twice to be of no use, and Goku forgot to revive King Kai both times.
Even if he literally lives in the afterlife anyway, he'd enjoy being actually alive and all that.
Also, can't wait to see how the manga handles this. And they could, you know, try to use the Super Dragon Balls to fix Trunks', well, existence.

I'm not sure why you guys are reacting in such surprised manners. This is par for the course for Super.
They didn't introduce Chekhov's button for nothing....
