Kirran's always been a little grating about preferring the Japanese pronunciations to everything (Ex: "It's not Goh-ku, it's Go-KUUU!"). Admittedly, yeah, I may have overreacted a smidge.

That's Kaiser not Kirran. And I'm not really sure how that's grating, it's just what he's used to. It's not like it crops up in the series (besides the "Freeza" thing).

That's more on the spelling confusion, because it's pronouncd Freeze-a anyway.

I can't unwatch that now. That's the only way that scene is going to look and sound to me now.

The whole thing reminded me more of Xenoblade's finale, what with using a glowy blue sword formed from everyone's energy to vertically bisect a genocidal, half-disfigured-from-fusion hypocritical god pissed off over mortals doing things reserved for gods alone. Shulk was considerate enough to go from the head down instead of the groin up, though. Ouchies.

As someone who knows a bit of Japanese, that's exactly how it's pronounced in English. The U in most cases is silent.

You know, as much as I hate how it came out of nowhere, I rather like that sword technique.

There are a grand total of three Ki sword techniques (well, I suppose the Kienzan counts, but it's rather atypical despite being the very first Ki blade technique since it's more like a throwing discus), and even though Trunks is the most recent, I think I like it the most.

I'm sure many will point out how much of an Ass Pull it is (and they ain't wrong) but damned if it didn't look good. I just wish they'd bothered to set it up before hand. Hell, Masako X provided a potential way to do that. They could have also had living Goku mention it or even use it in front of Trunks at some point.

Since no one in DBZ actually needs to learn to do a technique (they often just need to see it), him being able to pull it off wouldn't be so crazy. They couldn't even do that.

I'm really looking forward to how Toyotarou(sp) does it. I want to see the differences.

Trunks creating a Ki sword is a non-issue, he's seen Black use something similar this entire arc, and he's used a sword as his signature weapon for a while now. Honestly, the only thing in this episode that's even slightly irksome to me is Trunks creating a Spirit Bomb, and I'm perfectly willing to overlook the logistics of that solely because of how ludicrously awesome and appropriate it was.

And if the spoilers are to believed, it still didn't work. The Spirit Bomb has failed once more!

[up][up]

As am I. I'm just saying there are probably a few ways they could have set it up.

I mean, unlike Toriyama, Toei had the opportunity to foreshadow things (if this is something they came up with), and they didn't.

I'm irked.

[up][up] Well, to be honest, it worked as well as with Buu; it is just Zamasu being petulant to the point he is still bein an annoyance without a body.

And seriously, take the time to appreciate how awesome Vegetto managed to be anyway.

[up]YES

I think I'm starting to get why the ending bugged so many people. It was like Super had temporarily taken a massive Genre Shift to Mecha/JRPG/Shojo anime, where the heroes win from the power of love and friendship and believing in themselves. But that basically ONLY applied to Trunks, and no one else.

It really wasn't all that different from what Dragon Ball's done before, considering the similarities to the climax of the Buu Saga.

Now, Pushover, in the complainer's defense, you know the energy coin actually had much foreshadowing and had been long established.

Usually, Dragon Ball doesn't do outright Deus ex Machina so much as Diabolus ex Machina. Even when Whis did his thing, it was at least mentioned as something that could be done before...granted, sharing energy was too but the results were unspectacular last time.

I think the best example is how Goku, with no energy, running from Nova Shenron, just turned Super Saiyan Four when backed into a corner and brawled with him a little. How Goku, blinded by Ice Shenron, suddenly could see again and defeated him, not that the Super example seems quite as bad as GT's famous blunders.

Am I the only one who didn't think it looked like Trunks creating the spirit bomb?

The whole scene was stagged like all these energies started gathering together on their own in RESPONSE to Trunks's determination. He was as surprised as Zamasu when he first saw it, even if he recognized it. He didn't gather the energy so much as accept it.

Goku being blinded was dumb for a different reason...

... because he doesn't actually need his eyes at all. He can feel energy, he should be able to tell where Eis is regardless of whether he can see or not and, more importantly, he doesn't need to avoid hitting anything as he moves around - everything around him from the moment he's blinded is debris and at that point, I'm fairly sure you could hit him with a planet and he'd just go right through it like you were smacking a wooden plank on a nail.
